The moon is brighter then the sun. I don't need a light, it's night but I can see so well. I walk through this familiar forest until I come to the place where the water pools and runs silently over the rocks. I see him, as inviting as he was years ago. Standing across the river, he called for me. I came and he devoured me. The things that I saw in the hell in which I stood are to put simply unspeakable. "Look at the children burn, they've never been more alive then they are now". it fades back to the river the children turn to ash. Their reflections die on the water.1
The demon has gone, to where I cant say but I am alone. Wait I am not my brothers Garrett and Derek they stand with me, but they are in the water and I am dry. I was thirsty but I did not want this water so I didn't drink. And the demon reappeared across the river and called for me. I obeyed Garrett bowed and stepped across him, then Derek bowed and I stepped across him as well. I took long deliberate steps as they drown. The demons flames all but gone and he was just glowing embers. As I reach him he mocks me and vanishes, what did he say? I look down where did my shoes go? Why of all things my shoes? I make my way up the hill and the trees turn to shadows and the shadows to darkness. The moon vanished and the stars were never there. 2
"don't run, you can't run" I was on the ground surrounded by light. I could feel the roots of the earth wrapping around me. At that moment all I could think was this dream is far to long. I began to panic and as I did the roots released me and I was no longer blinded. Surrounded by emerald I could only wonder if I had lost my mind. 3
"you are the spark in the night" said the demon as all things passed reality and I was left in a place which was truly nothing. Terror, what sick god would allow me to come to such an empty place. "his brains are on the wall where you compared your height" the demon said to me. "I never measured my height" I replied. I was told to lay, by what I cannot say. I dare not question this unknown creature. I was told to sleep but I didn't maybe that was a mistake. After a few weeks Sabby came and he said to me "for this cool autumn air I would die." "As would I my brother" what more could I say. I rose and we fought, my arm black a swollen every strike was agony and I loved it. We fought for eons.4
I found myself standing on land in the middle of the river. The demon stood before me and I wept, why would I live so long in a dream such as this. He held me and I was at peace weeping in his arms. He asked me why I didn't run, honestly I didn't know. I asked this beast from the inferno if he knew my name. "your name will never matter", his words didn't sting, it was almost a comfort.5
The demon departed, and I was alone. I was alone for such a long time but the moon was there, and the stars were never there. Then he appeared, this man could be anyone from anytime and anyplace. He was neither black nor white Arabic nor Asian. 'Follow" I obeyed and we walked we walked for years through the forests and cities of the ages the things I saw in this time I will never be able to fully comprehend. We met a woman in a black dress and trench coat , but I shall return to her later. Arrows rained and men from all ages fought and died together, they fought without hatred. They fought because that was what they were. Those who had swords charged those with guns, those with guns were cowards and many fled. We watched this battle for hours and I asked the man "for what do they fight?" "they fight for the sake of fighting" "people are always fighting its their nature, you should know that" he said with a smirk. An arrow grazed my leg as we turned to leave. wonderful agony swept through my body as I limped away. my feet bloody and torn, my clothing almost gone. My hair well past my shoulder. We walked through the mist.6
I was standing in the middle of the river, the demon did not stand beside me he was in me and outside me at once. "I cannot save you, they cannot save you, you cannot save yourself. Your are a lost cause" and the mist faded and we walked on. I had to ask, I could no longer resist "sir, how long have we been walking it seems like we have seen quite a bit." he turned and simple said "two". "two what, day, years, decades?" I asked. He just laughed "millennia, but we are almost there." we climbed a mountain and up until this point our journey had been neither hot nor cold. I couldn't breathe the air it was ice. I grew dizzy and I was trapped by the roots of the earth again and they begun to pull me in deeper. So deep did I do that the creatures of the earth no longer knew of my existence. Every year they pulled me deeper into the cool loving earth and I was at peace until the trees died and their roots decayed. I was crushed by the death of my beloved oaks. Slowly inc by inch I clawed my way to the surface. We reached the top of the mountain and the valley was paradise. We walked through and I saw man and the serpent. We walked through and there were no beasts then no plants.7
Then I found myself in the river and the demon beckoned me, I came and he pulled me out of the water and set me down on the land beside him, he looked at me for a long time and his flames dried me. Then he lifted me and tossed me back into the icy water. I was hurt, why would he do that? "don't run" he said, I turned and walked away, I was ripped out of the water and he grabbed me, his flames were fierce and the tree caught fire, but the air was still ice. I was warm, I didn't care that my flesh was burning and that I wouldn't live another minute I was warm and I loved this demon who cast me into the icy water.8
I am in oblivion with the normal man, he is talking about a woman from a city whose name I will never know, she wore a black dress and trench coat. the demon seemed to reach out of nothing and pull me, I was slammed on a rock in the middle of the river. The demon showed its fangs, it didn't go for my neck, it bit my chest but rather then drain or rip it shot something into me. My reflection was not my reflection my eyes were auburn. "save them" said the demon as I died.
I awoke 3:15, that cant be right I fell asleep at 3:15, is there light outside. No. I had to know what day it was, it was still the same day? Not a minute had passed. I went outside the sky was full of stars but the moon wasn't there, maybe the moon was never there,

Overall this story had a good idea to it, but lacked severely in grammar. I found several errors, I'm sure that if you went back and reviewed it you will see them.
Other than that, the story was very imaginitve and very mysterious. I liked the whole of the story.
Fix the grammar problems and you would have yourself a very good story.
Thanks so much for entering!!

Very intriguing.
A few grammatical things could be used to tidy this up a bit, but I'm not a grammar tyrant, so don't worry about it.
This has to be one of the scariest things I've ever read. Because it's not monsters or death that scare me, it's the concept of confusion and the TIME that passes throughout this piece.
It's enough to make me shiver. The concept was awesome, but I have a feeling that this could have been executed a bit better and that you have the potential to do that.
Great job!
