A Lifetime of Love in Seventy Words

"We only have seventy words left," Carolyn whispered.1

"Seventy words for what?" Danny asked, bewildered.2

Carolyn blink back tears as she took her fiancé's hands. "We only have seventy words left before our story ends."3

Danny choked back a sob. "Oh my god ... what do we do?"4

"We take this moment and make it last a lifetime."5

The lovers embraced, savoring every precious moment they had, before slowly fading away.

Author notes

Well, probably the gender most people would be able to make sense of is female, so I'll go with that. Tomboyish femme is actually a lot closer, but I usually get confused looks when I use it, so most of the time, I don't.

    Brilliant.

    No way

    It's seventy, you're good!

    Thank YOU for entering!

    I really, really love this.

You'd know that, considering I think this may be the fifth time I've put anything in the 'Your verdict' box

Anyway. I was telling the truth. This is brilliant.

It was an entirely different take on my option, and I love that. I really do.

Thanks for the little message, too. I love talking to my entry writers!

And you even did the author's notes gender [That was cute.]

    So basically;;;;

You're a ten out of ten, here.

Thank you so much for entering my contest, this was written wonderfully with a great...I can't really say plot, but you know what I mean! I guess it is a plot, really.

I wish you the best of luck! Great work!

    xoxo

    • Thanks so much, Tay! I really have fun trying to tell stories in different ways, and the idea for this just kinda hit me out of nowhere when I saw your contest. Thanks so much for the inspiration and for hosting such a neat contest.

  • Hi Taylor Renee! Thanks for hosting the "A Little Effort" contest. The built in storywrite word counter seems to be a bit off. I went in and counted the words in this story a couple of times, and came up with 70. I tried adding one word, and the storywrite word counter jumped from 69 to 71. If you'd like me to add another word anyway, please let me know.
