"I'm dead." He stated matter of factly.1
I scoffed and said, "Really, you're dead? And how long have you been dead?" I rolled over on my side and stared at my best friend, Jimmy, who I called Jimmothy sometimes because it annoyed the hell out of him.2
Jimmy was staring up at my pink ceiling. We'd been laying around my room all summer. School was starting next week and neither of us wanted summer to end. "Okay Rosaline," Yeah, that's my real name. My parent's have a thing for Shakespeare. In college, they were actors. My dad fell in love with my mom when she played the part of Juliet in their high school play. My dad was Benvolio. Ever since that play, they've been in love with each other and Shakespeare. They actually considered naming my older brother Romeo, but they decided on Matthew instead. Lucky enough for him. "I'm not technically dead. I mean, I probably never will be. Well, I could die. The chances of..." 3
I covered his mouth with my hand as he glared at me. "Jimmy, what in the world are you talking about?" I asked totally confused.4
I took my hand from his mouth as I sat up. "I think I've said too much," Jimmy said as he stood up and walked to my window. He looked around my backyard and sighed before sitting down in my computer chair.5
I just stared at him incredulously. "Uh, have you lost your mind or what?" I asked.6
He just looked at me. Before he could say anything, my mother popped her head into my room. "You kids ready for dinner?" She asked and didn't wait for an answer.7
I groaned and stood up. "Come on deadman, let's go get some food."8

Jimmy and I had been friends ever since I could remember. We grew up doing everything together. While we were mentally twins, we were pretty much opposite on the outside. I had long, curly golden hair and blue eyes. I was short and thin. Jimmy was tall and rail-like. With his long, stright black hair and green eyes, he reminded me of a cat. Both of us had always been pale because of our lack of outdoorsy genes, but lately, something had changed...10

Jimmy and I sat across from my mom and dad at dinner and I noticed the glances they kept giving him. 12
My mom, looking like a perfect adult version of me, set her fork down and said to Jimmy, "Honey, you're looking kind of deathly pale. Are you sick?"13
I had noticed that he was unusually pale the minute he walked through my door earlier that day. I also noticed that he was not sick. There was something wrong with my best friend and I was going to figure out what it is.14

Author notes
Okay, this was a random idea that popped into my psychotic mind. =] Hopefully, this will be interesting. By the way, it took me forever to think of a title for this story. I couldn't think of anything to use in english, so I used a translator and ended up using an Italian title. Amore Immortale means Immortal Love. Sorry for my ADD. Enjoy!
