A Black Destiny (Chapter 6)

Maharani's head began to feel light, her mind spining wrecklessly as her lips entwined with Aelfric's. In her passion, she failed to realize that she had slid her tongue across the dangerous stalagtites hanging from his gums, and those deadly fangs had drawn the tiniest sliver across her tonue. The stinging didn't call her attention until she tasted the coppery, saltine taste of her own blood. Aelfric tasted it as well, and nearly went mad suckling her tongue and trying to unlace her dress. Maharani pushed him back slowly. 1

"Wait, dearest. Not here. My brother... Well, if he's found me out he'll be looking for me and the forest is no place for us to be seen." Aelfric nodded at her reasoning, his chest still heaving in his excitement. He grabbed Maharani and held her tightly. Suddenly from his back, his cloak split in two, a pair of gigantic appendages ascending to the heavens from beneath it. They were wings, about ten foot long a piece, and black as ebony. They were smooth and silky, like the fur of a bat. Maharani's eyes widened. Aelfric recoiled the muscles in his legs, and propelling himself upward, took flight.2

It was mere minutes before the two of them were landing safely on his doorstep, Aelfric hoisting Maharani into his arms and kicking the front door in as if it were nothing. The servants did not materialize as he carried her down the hall.
