Planet Lima --Introduction

"I suppose you're from the planet Earth? The way you dress and look has given it away. My name is Citrina, I am the best greeter and tour guide you will find on this entire planet! I've won multiple awards- but you don't need to know that do you? Was your journey pleasant? Have you avoided a bumpy ride? I like to get to know every new visitor that I will be showing around. You seem quite shy, but don't worry I don't bite!Shall we begin the tour? Yes, I think that would be the wise decision. Take a deep breath and enjoy your very first steps on the planet Lima!1

First, I will show you the museum of animals. This world has many beautiful creatures that no one will find on any other planet. I am aware you have what you call "pets" on your planet. We have them here too! Although, they seem quite strange they are extremely playful and easy to train. Surveys show that the most popular pets on your planet are cats and dogs. Here, we have something similar to those creatures. We call them the lemps and the yops. Lemps are very loyal and enjoy attention. Yops however, need a lot of attention to get used to it. Once trained, they make perfect ideals to a pet. There aren't any wild animals, only the more trained kind in the few zoo's we have around the planet. There are many animals in there, like the stroogles, tungras, hickets and the porflaces. I could go into detail about all of those, but it gets quite boring!2

For our next trip, I will take you to the greatest city in all of the planet: Lemine! If you look around the fashion here is quite different to what you see on Earth. Everyone wears the colors black, green and yellow! Big hair is a big thing here, and you can see that yourself just by looking at the women here. I happen to know one of the weaknesses of your planet is in fact variety in skin color. That is not an issue here, because every newborn is put through a process that makes its skin green. depending on which city you were born in, skin color varies from yellow and green. Those colors are key in the fashion industry. Yellow-skinned people tend to go for the green styles, while the green-skinned go for yellow. There are some daring people who go for green on green or yellow on yellow. They may as well walk naked in the streets. As you can see, they all are shaped like the people on Earth.3

The weather here is controlled. There have never been natural disasters like on Earth, and we hope to keep it that way. Each morning we ask all the citizens, if they can to log onto their "computer" looking objects and vote on what they want the weather to be that day. Today the majority was obviously few clouds and a lot of sunshine!4

You had such a long trip, there is nothing more delicious than the food found in Lenome's Diner. I insist you come there with me to dine on our finest foods! In every dish there is a hint of lime or lemon. This planet used to be a large fused lemon-lime that drifted away from Earth. Scientists discovered a way to turn fruits into planets, go figure! Just like Earth we have meat, breads, vegetables, fruits and basically the whole shabang. Since there is a major limit on animals, the meat is grown in the many special meat farms found throughout the planet. Just like everything that is grown from our soil, there will be hints of lime and lemon. I'm really sorry but there is no time to sit and eat, I have been too thorough and the tour needs to continue.5

Sometimes it's a good idea to merely take a stroll through the many fine parks around each and every city. As you can see, we have trees and plants just as Earth does. Although here, the color of green on nature is a deadly sign. Yellow is the color of healthy plants, while green means the plant needs nourishment and water. Since there is so much green and yellow everywhere, the buildings are forbidden to be colored that way. Instead, they are blacks and whites. The air constantly has the fresh scent of limes and lemons, so air refresheners are never needed. All one has to do in a home is open the window and the room instantly smells fresh. Pollution isn't a problem here, we are a very clean people. Everything you will see here looks perfectly polished and clean.6

Of course there are rules in place but we do not treat it the same way you do with Earth. Every rule breaker is banished from the entire planet, which is a punishment the people would deifnitely avoid. The majority end up moving to Earth which is a huge difference to where they used to be. A good motivation is what keeps the people here in line. We pretty much classify the same things Earth does as crime. Burglary isn't that much of an issue here, because every home unit has one entrance and is only activated by the finger prints of the inhabitants. Rules can be such a dull topic, so lets move on.7

Just like Earth, there are restaurants to go to, theme parks to see and basically just about anything you'd find on Earth you'd find here. I wouldn't go into too much detail about what people do here on their free time since you're familiar with the things you can do on Earth. When it comes to jobs there are always plenty of jobs for everyone. We seem to be able to find new things that need people to work.8

One of the unique things on this planet happens to be the names that are given to the people here. Just like on Earth, the parents of the children give the child a name. The name isn't chosen until the child is at least 5 years of age. This is because parents are given time to observe the child so they could choose a name that suits the child's personality. The most common girl's name on here seems to be Lamina and boy's name Lamino.9

Religion is another quite different thing, considering there is none. No one here places forth belief in higher powers or any thought on why we're here. Everyone is the same when it comes to the religion prospect, which brings everyone closer together. We have many holidays, which are always celebrated with fireworks displayed in the biggest cities. Carnivals happen so often that it is hard for people to get bored here. The most awaited holiday is Limon! This is a day dedicated to the fused Lemon-Lime that became our very planet. People exchange gifts, have family meals together and some choose to join the rest of the city outdoors in varying celebration! This is a very joyous planet that has many things to do."10

I watched as Citrina rushed into a strange looking device that then roared and began gliding. It seems to be a Lima version of the car. This surely is a strange planet. Why is it I had that dreaded feeling that something is about to go terribly wrong on this peaceful planet? 13
