Rose Petals Ch. 15

Kurama moaned lightly as she sat up looking around seeing she wasn't in her room as she looked around.Last she remembered she was still in school and resting. Which kinda left the question in the back of her head, how did she wind up back in her room. 1

"You awake now?" Hiei asked looking over from the window sill.2

"Mmm...yeah." She said nodding feeling Hiei sit on the bed next to her a hand going to her large stomach. 3

A slight moan escaped her lips at the warmth the fire demon was giving off. It just felt so good.4

"Your going to be on Bed rest if you do that again." Hiei said frowning. 5

"Hiei-6

"That's a definite fox." Hiei cut in frowning. 7

"Well its not my fault their sleep schedules don't go according to mine, I was in a bad mood all day because I didn't get any sleep last night." She said frowning. 8

"That's why your going to bed early tonight. I'll make sure the kits sleep." He said patting his lover's stomach. 9

A month would soon pass and with Kurama being as far along as she was it was becoming increasingly hard for her to do much. Currently She and Hiei were scouting The Makai, Kurama of course in her fox form as the 3 thousand year old fox hopped across branches with a quickness that could even give Hiei a challenge. 10

"God It feels good to have control again." Yoko said and gave a pleasured growl at being able to roam free in his own territory again. 11

"Don't get to used to it...your only out so Your other half won't have to do as much work." Hiei replied coming up beside the ancient fox theif. 12

"This is sad coming from me considering I'm talking about myself, but my other half looks positively like hell." Yoko said earning a few less than repeatable phrases from the pregnant female half. 13

"This way." He said quickly turning in another direction to see if Hiei would fall out of the trees. To his amusement the fire demon did and he jumped on a branch and gave quite a toothy grin seeing the now peeved off Fire demon fuming above him. 14

"Haha what's the matter lose your balance?" He asked.15

"Your lucky your merged with Kurama or else I would have burned you alive now." Hiei said. 16

"I would have liked to see you try." Yoko said quite coldly as the look of amusement in his eyes became icy cold and his grin disappeared to a frown as he jumped off again. 17

After running a few more miles and avoiding a few traps that Yoko had set in case anyone else dared to come and try and steal his loot , the silver haired thief kitsune landed down on the ground of one of his dens as he frowned some walking inside. 18

"This one I've kept empty for centuries...back when it was just me and Kuronue..we tried to have a litter of our own...but sadly." Yoko said frowning seeing Hiei walk around the den as if to inspect it. 19

"You didn't bobby trap this one?" Hiei asked a bit curious. 20

"I didn't see a need for it." Yoko said sitting down on a rock his arms on his legs as he bent forward a bit and looked at a spot on the ground as memories replayed in the ancient fox's mind as he looked up at Hiei thinking how lucky the fire demon was to be blessed with four lives that were soon to cause his other half an unbearable amount of pain. 21

He could remember back to when he and his bat lover would speak about a litter of their own. How Kuronue would offer himself to be the one to bare their litter being the older Kitsune could get around easier than he could on most of their thieving sprees. He could remember having none of what he thought was nonsense and would carry the bat-kits instead...as long as it was with Kuronue he would have given his life for his bat lover. But the tables were turned on that fateful day, and Kuronue gave his life to save Yoko, for Yoko to live on free and without having to be held down by the bat demon anymore. 22

But why? Why did Kuronue have to give his life? Why couldn't it have been him and why did he have to wait until that spree to see if they were able to produce a litter. Simple, because after the raid Yoko would stop stealing for a while and sit back and watch as the newer thieves would try to take his spot, try to fill his shoes, become just like him. But sadly his bat lover died and he became cold and heartless never letting anyone into his heart. That was until Shiori came. 23

Shiori had shown him a kindness he hadn't felt in so long. Maybe it was worth it that he had chosen the human world to take refuge in. To hide out in and plan his moves. And now after so many years his human half was going to be having a litter of his own. A small tear slid down the Kitsune's face and Yoko could swear he felt the gentle touch of his bat lover's fingers wiping the tear away. 24

"Nnn...Kuronue." He said softly.25

"You say something?" Hiei asked.26

"No nothing. So how's this one look?" He asked. 27

"Its the only big one around for miles and its well hidden...no one will find us out here." Hiei said. 28

"That's the plan." Yoko said standing. "I'll see what I can do about bedding within the next month." He said going back with Hiei. 29

Upon entering the human world Kurama took control of the merged body and smiled some kissing Hiei gently. "Let's go back home...I'm tired from all that exploring....and these four are getting hungry." Kurama said holding her stomach.30

"I can tell by the way they're kicking...what got Yoko in such a mood?" Hiei asked.31

"That Den brought back some painful memories for him but he's willing to let them go because even though he didn't get his litter he's happy that I'm going to have one of my own so he still gets to watch these little ones grow up." Kurama said rubbing her stomach.
