Love Me Senseless3

Introduction: Someday4

Her birth certificate said that her name was Danielle Parker, but everyone called her Dani Parker. And that was how she was known. She was an average girl, perfectly happy with just meeting requirements and not standing out in anything. She had learned at a young age that it was better that way. 5

Dani was sixteen and attended a high school in a town nobody cared about. She’d tell you the name of it, but you’d have no use for it. No matter how many people came and went, the town always passed unnoticed in their minds. Like everyone else who lived there, either because they had nowhere else to go or they were born there and had to wait to grow up, Dani watched all sorts of beings come briefly, then fade away, it seemed. She was good at observing. It was what she did best. 6

She saw everything, and did nothing. Because there was nothing she could do. Or she hadn’t found what she was supposed to do. 7

Dani had grown up in a house that she thought was full of love, with a mother who appeared caring and a father who appeared doting. She had inherited her mother’s pale gray eyes and her father’s straight brown hair, but other than that, she had gotten nothing from them. When she was twelve, her parents had split up, causing her the first heartbreak she had ever experienced. Now, she lived in a small house with her father on a dark street called Riverwood. Her mother had joined the passersby and faded away with them, not that Dani minded much. Everyone knew it had been her mother who had wanted the separation. She had ruined everything. And by nature Dani was not good at forgiving and forgetting.8

More or less though, her experiences at twelve helped to make her a better person, or so she thought. Certain things had happened since that time that made Dani question what kind of person she was. Even if one’s life is perfect, it is rather hard to know oneself at times. 9

When Dani was fifteen, she realized she was gay. She had discovered it after hooking up with her first and only boyfriend, a boy he had pursued for an entire year, named Shane. She thought that he fascinated her while pursuing him, but later, after the first date and first make out session, she knew something was not quite right. They had broken up briefly, only to go on another date the following school year, and Dani had the same reaction the second time he kissed her. Frustrated, she had broken up with Shane, trying her best to explain it to him. Surprisingly, he didn’t mind and told her that he understood. He wouldn’t deny that he was a little upset about it, but he still told her he would stick with her and be her friend, even after it was revealed to her that she was attracted to girls. 10

Everyone in the world is searching for something. Either that or they’ve already found it. Dani was searching for the thing most people look for: true, undying love. Or course, being a lesbian complicated things a bit, but she was not fazed. She had faith that somewhere out in that giant world was a girl who it was okay to love, a girl she could approach without having to worry if she was crossing fragile boundaries. Dani looked forward to finding this girl, because this girl was what would make her complete. 11

Completion. Ultimately, that is what everyone looks for, and most never find it because they look in all the wrong places. Dani was confident, but not so much that she possessive. She had no choice but to wait for the right girl to appear in town one day, because she couldn’t leave and go search for her. At least, not yet. 12

Someday...

Author notes

I know, I know. I should be updating Hizashi. Hey, at least chapter 7 is written, just not posted yet. Nobody reads them anyway, so for the sake of my guilty conscience chapters 7 and 8 of Hizashi will be up as soon as I have time to post them.
This story is good too. Seriously.

Note: this is NOT an adult story, but apparently storywrite thinks I don't know my own categories so it's saying it is. Is it because it's about a lesbian? *sigh* Sorry about that, I TRIED to change it.
