I'm lost in how my love is wrong
And why I have to hide.
My love is just as much as theirs.
Why must I tell a lie.1
They say I'm damned, I'm sick, I'm wrong
But I don't understand.
To love someone the same as I
Why must I take a stand?2
They say to look beyond the skin,
To love one for their soul.
Why must they judge and say I'm wrong?
Her love has made me whole.3
"The bible says..."
"But where" I ask,
I see in different light.
"It says right there..."
"I just dont see.
It says that love is right" .4
I argue just as much as they
And still they can find more
But all their reasons are skin deep
And I am called a whore.5
My love is just as much as theirs
More in fact, I think
For my love comes from something more
Our souls entwined have linked.6
I look into her eyes and see
An ocean full of hope.
My heart it swells and overflows
And finally I'm home.7
They may say that we are wrong
But what we have is more
We do not care what they may say
And so I love her more.8
Fight as you may I'll say I'm right
No matter what you say,
For I don't judge or look for love
In conventional ways.9
My love will stay and grow with time
But theirs will stay the same
For my love is from down within
Burning like a flame.10

Hey hun, I would say that I myself am a christian but this didnt come across as offensive to me. My moto in life is that you should love everyone until proven otherwise so I dont judge people for who they chose to love. I think that if you have found someone you love then you should celebrate that, be they a man or a woman or something inbetween. Yes it does say in the Bible against homosexuality but it also says 'judges not' and that is my favourite rule and the basis of how I try to treat people.
This was a lovely poem, good luck in the contest!
