The mother sat back down right next to her husband. The living room stood silent as they watched their soaps. In the middle of the movie when the father finally spoke, "It's sad that the one guy Melissa likes is him." The mother was pale. She didn't know if she was going to hurl or blow with rage.2
Melissa soaked her pillow with tears as her eyes burned through the picture of Jeff. She let her last tears run down her cheek, before she turned her computer on. The computer was secretly stashed in the closet. Her mother told her to get rid of her computer after she found out of the secret messages from Jeff.3
Melissa logged into storywrite, her eyes lightened as she saw the user name of Jeff on line. She messaged him instantly, "Ello.
."4She kept refreshing her page waiting for a reply back. Refresh. Refresh. Refresh. After the tenth refresh a message was sent back. On the message from Jeff said, "Hi, sweety.
You!
s and kisses. How are you doing?" her heart pumped as she read his words.5Melissa let out a humph, then she started to type, "My mother found my diary, and read about you. She said I can't see you again. Don't think that I didn't pick a fight though!
." She kept refreshing again. Her mind was flooded with romantic thoughts of her and Jeff.6The message from Jeff flashed before her eyes. It said, "Darn. That must suck. That is why I never have a "diary."
Uh, oh. I have to go. My dad just entered the room. See ya in school.
" 7Her heart sank as she typed these words, "See ya, and have a good night." She finished messaging him, when she shut down the computer. Melissa sighed as she wobbled to her bed. She leaps on top, and snuggled her pillow again. Her eyes grew heavy, as the wind sang her to sleep.8
* Melissa was running, as tears of agony fell from her eyes. She tried to yell for help, but her throat screamed in pain. Her breathing grew heavy as she sped up her pace. Her legs cried to stop, but she ignored that calling. Heart beating faster than a jack-rabbit, as it tore at her chest. 9
She ran through an alleyway and was blocked by a huge wall. It was a dead end. She turned to face a hungry beast. Its limpy body was being held by massive legs. Its snout stretched out from its face. Acid dripped from its gigantic jaws as it snarled at Melissa.10
Melissa tightened her eyes shut, as she got ready for sever pain. The monster grew closer to its prey. As it was about ready to finish her off, a white light flashed in front of it. Making it wipe and run with its tail between its legs.11
Melissa slowly opened her eyes to be faced to face with Jeff. Light shined from his body. His white robe stretched down to his bare feet. Melissa squealed in delight as she leaps at him for a big hug, but she went through him and fell roughly on the concrete. She looked up at him, wondering, "What happened? Why can't I hug you?" A tear ran down Jeff's cheek, than it started to rain. White, feathery wings stretched from his back. Melissa cried so hard as her love flew in the clouds.*12
Melissa jolted up. The day was still dark. She picked up the phone and dialed Jeff's number. Her heart still racing. She was answered by a message machine. She started to panic, "Jeff! Are you there!? Please answer me, it's Melissa! Jeff? Jeff? JEFF!?" She started to cry at the third Jeff. The phone was picked up by a boy, about a year older than her.13
Jeff quickly replied, "Don't cry, Melissa. It's, OK." Jeff yawned and stumbled downstairs in his pj's.14
Melissa moaned, "It's not, OK! You died. Your dead. Died, dead, dead, died, dead!" Jeff nearly dropped his phone, he tried to interrupt but he couldn't find a free spot to say his piece. Melissa kept saying things like, your dead. You died. Dead, died. Stuff like that for an hour. 15
Jeff finally started to talk, "Uh, Melissa. Take two and call me in the morning." Melissa was stopped by the sound of his phone hanging up.16
Jeff was awoken by his alarm going off. He wanted to smash it, but instead he just got dressed. His bags under his eyes was dark. He yawned as he went to brush his teeth. The phone rang right when he stumbled downstairs. He picked up the phone and yawn, "Hello?"17
Melissa giggled, "Hello, Jeff." Jeff only thought she actually called. 18
He let out a sigh and asked, "Did you take those two pills?" 19
There was a long pause, than Melissa answered, "What kind of pills?" Jeff almost laughed. He though she was to cute.20
He giggled, "Chill pills, silly." Melissa laughed. She felt so stupid. Jeff shook his head and continued, "We got to get ready for school. So, I'll see ya there. Jeez."21
Melissa wanted to tell him she loved him, but she heared the click as the phone was hung up again. She sighed, and hung the phone up right on her desk, which had her alarm clock on. She got dressed, and jolted downstairs for breakfast. 22
She slumped at the dinner table. Her dad had a newspaper across his face, and was mumbling stuff. Her mother plopped a plat of, eggs, bacon, and little pancakes, in front of Melissa. She sighed and threw a little smile at her mother. Her mother gave it back to her, and went off to clean some dishes. 23
Melissa stuffed the food down her throat and dashed to her backpack. She threw it on, and, giving her parents a good-bye, she jumped out of the door.24
She sped up to be right next to Jeff. Jeff gave her a crooked smile. She started to giggle, "You look so-o-o drunk." She than started to laugh even harder.25
Jeff poled the snobby act, "Well, I was up cheering up a whiny-baby." Melissa gave him a playful punch on his arm. He only smiled, then started to form a stern look. He playfully said, "Since you kept me up, I hate you." 26
Melissa's lips formed a cat like grin and simply said, "OK." Jeff froze in shock as Melissa kept walking to school with her head up high. Jeff fell like a rock, still in frozen mode. 27
Melissa and Jeff finished half of their periods. They were finally at lunch time. Jeff skied over to Melissa and held his arms out, "I love you."28
Melissa snorted, "I thought you hate me." She stared st the wounded animal. 29
Jeff smiled, "Who could ever hate you?" Melissa knew he was joking with him hating her, so she went in his warm embrace. His sweet aroma flooded her nostrils. She let out a heartfelt sigh. She closed her eyes enjoying the moment. A snore made her jolt. The snoring was coming from Jeff. He had fallen asleep in her arms. Gravity decided to pull Jeff. 30
Melissa tried to hold on, "Jeff, you...are...so...heavy!" Jeff just piled on to of her. She moaned as her back came into contact with the school's floor. Melissa pleaded, "Someone, help!" She gasped between each word. 31
Her best friend, Cat, walked up and giggled, "What should I do?" She walked around Melissa and Jeff, about ready to burst in laughter.32
A low voice shot in the air, "Wake him up." Everyone laughed at Dan's comment. Dan rubbed his eyes that continued, "Get me some water." Melissa tossed a shoe and connected it with his face. As Dan screamed in pain, Cat grabbed a stick, and started to poke Jeff's butt with it. At the first contact with the stick, Jeff sprang up. 33
He rubbed his butt rapidly going, "Don't do that!" His eyes where caught by Melissa. He asked, "What happened to you?" Melissa's other shoe said hi to Jeff's face. 34
They were walking down to the cafeteria. Melissa had each shoe in each hand. Jeff asked, "You arn't going to keep holding those shoes, are you?" Melissa nodded. Jeff huffed.35
Melissa changed the subject, "You are fat, you know that?" Jeff felt like he was stabbed by a sword.36
He pulled his sleeve back, and flexed his muscles, "This is not fat, babe." He had that Elvis accent. 37
Melissa poked at his gut, "Yeah, muscles that jiggle." 38
Jeff quickly replied, "Well, everyone has those hard muscles, and I wanted to be different. So, I decided to get muscles that jiggles. It has a groove, like I do. And hey, you got fat, two!" 39
Melissa pulled her shirt up, that only her stomach was bare. "Where?" She searched her body, looking for fat.40
Jeff snickered, "There." He took a big handful of her butt. He was than hit by her shoes rapidly. He kept scooting back, but one of her shoes smacked him so hard, that it sent him rolling into the cafeteria. His head made contact with a table. He noticed where he was and got in line. He smiled, "Melissa can't get me now."41
He felt an impact smack on the back of his head. Melissa was in her throwing stance. She had tossed her shoe and hit the back of Jeff's head. She jumped in triumphantly, "I'm getting better at my throwing. Sure, I aimed for his butt, but it still works." She slid in her shoes and waited in line.42
They found a table and sat together. Jeff started the discussion, "I had the strangest dream." Melissa nodded, to tell Jeff to go on. Jeff smiled, "Well, It's something like this." 43
This is how his dream went.44
* Jeff was running, as tears of agony fell from his eyes. He tried to yell for help, but his throat screamed in pain. His breathing grew heavy as he sped up his pace. His legs cried to stop, but he ignored that calling. Heart beating faster than a jack-rabbit, as it tore at his chest. 45
He ran through an alleyway and was blocked by a huge wall. It was a dead end. He turned to face a hungry beast. Its limpy body was being held by massive legs. Its snout stretched out from its face. Acid dripped from its gigantic jaws as it snarled at Jeff.46
Jeff tightened his eyes shut, as he got ready for sever pain. The monster grew closer to its prey. As it was about ready to finish him off, a white light flashed in front of it, making it wipe and run with its tail between its legs.47
Jeff slowly opened his eyes to be faced to face with Melissa. Light shined from her body. Her white robe stretched down to her bare feet. Jeff squealed in delight as he leaps at her for a big hug, but he went through her and fell roughly on the concrete. He looked up at her, wondering, "What happened? Why can't I hug you?" A tear ran down Melissa's cheek, than it started to rain. White, feathery wings stretched from her back. Jeff cried so hard as his love flew in the clouds.*48
After Jeff was finished with his dream, Melissa stated, "That what happened in my dream, except you were the one dead." Jeff and Melissa stared at each other, than started to laugh. After lunch, they shared a tender kiss before parting ways. 49
The school finally finished, when Jeff asked Melissa, " Do you want a ride home?" 50
Melissa blushed, "But, my parents don't allow me to be with you." 51
Jeff chuckled, "Just say you missed your buss, or something. Your smart." Melissa nodded her head. They went on his motorcycle. They both had helmets on. The motor growled as it started up. They were zipping down the road. 52
The wind felt so good. Melissa yelled so Jeff can hear her, "How's your family doing?"53
Jeff yelled back, "Not to good. My father is in depression after mom died. I have to support the family now. I wish I had a brother or sister. Darn it." 54
They stopped at a red light when Melissa said, "I'm sorry for what happened."55
Jeff turned to face her. He smiled in comfort, "It's OK." He pulled her too a tight hug. The hug didn't last long. It was interrupted by a honk of a car. Jeff turned toward the car behind him, "Ah, go drop died."56
Melissa scolded, "You shouldn't of done that." Jeff turned toward Melissa.57
He moped, "Why not?"58
She pointed to the car on their right, "Because, it was them who honked." Jeff blushed. He nervously scratched his head.59
He turned to the car right behind him again, and said shyly, "He-he, oops. Sorry." Melissa laughed, but stopped once the light turned green. They were zooming off once again.60
They were starting to turn, when a drunk driver crashed on the back of the motorcycle. The world was turning. They spun in the air. Tears poured from Melissa, but Jeff just rapped his arms around her. They eyes widened as the bike crashed into a building.61
After that only one of them died. As the police went to report the news to each of the family. A family of two, mother and father cried with joy, but the family of one, a father, cried in agony. One of the child died, as one lives and cries in pain.
