My Name is Alice Cullen, a Twilight fanfic

I had the documents, the newspaper clippings. Photographs of my tombstone. It was a little hard to believe that I once was this girl--Mary Alice Brandon of Biloxi, Mississippi.1

I had had a sister, parents, and a niece. A home. Maybe I could have kept them if my parents hadn't sent me to an asylum, preferring to pretend that their daughter was dead than accept that she was a bit beyond the norm.2

I could have lived a totally ordinary life. I would have drank coffee with milk and sugar every morning instead of blood. 3

Maybe I'd have been a vegetarian. I laughed at the thought.4

I'd have been a good, moral woman, maybe even a member of the Women's Christian Temperance Union in the twenties. Every day my when my husband came home from work, I'd have had dinner on the table. 5

We'd have spent our nights discussing our plans for the future and our children, a boy and a girl. We'd have laughed over the antics of our cat and worried about the war, whichever one was going on at the time.6

If I hadn't been locked up in a madhouse thanks to my parents, I'd be dead now.7

I sighed at that thought and shook my head. I didn't mind the concept of staying exactly the same for eternity, never to age or die. I enjoyed my life, and loved Jasper. Still, I wouldn't mind dying one day either.8

Mary Alice Brandon would have been a good mother. Alice Cullen--I--would never have that chance.9

"Hello, my love," said Jasper as he entered our room. "What's got you upset?"10

I smiled, though of course it wouldn't fool Jasper. "It's nothing. I'm just a little worried about Bella; she's happy that Edward's going to turn her in just a few days, but she's also scared... though I'm sure you know that."11

"She is... but you know everything will be fine." As he pulled me into his arms, I felt happiness wash over me.12

"I do. More importantly," I said, grinning, "The wedding tomorrow is going to be spectacular."13

"Naturally," replied Jasper, returning my grin, "considering the fact that you planned it."14

He tipped my head up and brought his mouth down onto mine. This was just right, I thought as he trailed his mouth down to my collarbone. No matter who I had been, I was Alice Cullen, and that was all that mattered.

Author notes

Option 3.

Alice is my favorite Twilight character, so I thought I'd try writing something from her POV. This is my first-ever Twilight fic.

It's a lot shorter than I had originally planned it to be. I hope it turned out well, anyway.

Really? I thought that the movie was... okay. If you got past the bad acting, bad makeup, and the fact that Edward looked like a sugar cookie when he sparkled. Then again, I'm a drama kid, so I'm pretty anal about movies and plays and whatnot.
You NEED to read the book. You haven't even learned how to BREATHE yet till you've read Twilight. No, that's not an exaggeration (or much of one... )
