Teeth, and Magic Pt. 7

The elf walked from his room every morning to go to temple. Temple was his place of refuge from the outside world, a place where he could clear his mind.
He was a high class wizard who had many abilities, from a basic fireball to mind control. His favorite, and the one he was best at, was mind control. Bending people's wills to do his bidding was a hobby of his and he loved doing it.
He had arrived at the temple now and stat down on a bench. He eyed the revered cleric then opened a prayer book.
The elf never looked at the actual words in the prayer book, never had to. He had memorized it at a very young age. He opened it to make the revered cleric happy.
The temple was a big building, decorated with fancy gargoyles and stained glass. Each object was perfectly placed to look great. In fact, if the cleric would see anything out of order, he would fix it himself.
The elf's head throbbed. Something had happened to the werewolf, who he had just sent off to find the mage again. They were fighting again! And the vampire and the mage were winning! This was not possible.
It was a rare occasion when the elf actually left the temple, but this was one of those times. There was an urgent need of his attention.
~*~*~*~*~*~
He ran down the road towards the battle. Something in his head told him that it was near the Black Vampire's house.
He arrived quickly and looked around. No one was out and about, not that, after the vampire's raid, there were many people left. The Black Vampire's front gate was in front of him.
He started his way in through the gate. Suddenly, the plants that littered the Black Vampire's front lawn grew. They shot up from the ground and grabbed the elf's legs. The elf could do nothing as the plants passed him through the yard.
The plants were not gentle and more than a few times they nearly ripped the elf's limbs off. They tossed him here and there, seeming not to know where they were supposed to put him. Pain constantly shot through the elf as he was thrown. The last burst of pain was right at the end, when his arm was ripped off and his body was thrown out the back of the yard.
An elf, the plants had thought, what do we do to an elf?...1

The werewolf did not wake until the next day, but when he did, he seemed not to know how he got to my house. Gryn had said that the werewolf's mind was clouded and in chaos right after he attacked, and we had to find out why.
“Are you OK?” I asked him. He stared at me with empty eyes.
“I...the elf...took control of me...” He said. I looked alarmingly at Gryn who nodded, his face grim.
“He has done that to me before, as well,” he said. When he was in the trance! I thought, We never should have gone after the werewolf in the first place.
“I felt...the bond between the elf and I...break a little while ago,” The werewolf said. Gryn's eyes widened and he said, “The only way that happens is when the caster of the mind control spell is hurt, a lot...”
“How could he have been hurt?” I asked. My question was answered soon when I heard a knock on the door. I felt a telekinetic path open up in my mind and heard, “We...hurt...the...elf!”
My plants! The elf had felt the battle and tried to get in my house, but since the plants were enchanted by elves...they did not know if they should even touch the elf. It was either that or go the other extreme, wound him.
“I have to go...and, you can't come Gryn,” I said. I raced to the back door and flung it wide. Sitting in the middle of the street was the elf, his right arm severed and bleeding ferociously.
I ran up to him and checked if he was still breathing. Seeing that he was, I picked him up. Elven blood splattered over my chest as I leaped down the road towards the council hospital.
As soon as I reached the hospital, the young beautiful girl elf answered the door. “Oh!” She said in shock, “Bring him in!” She told me.
I rushed him to the nearest available bed and lay him gently down. The pretty elf took over and wrapped his severed arm with amazing grace. I could not help admiring this girl. She seemed about as old as the council elf and she had an air about her of kindness. She turned to me and said, “Well, it seems that he is going to be fine.”
Fine was not the word I would choose, for his arm was cut off. I began to feel sorry for him. My plants did not know what to do...but they chose the wrong extreme.
I realized someone was looking at me and glanced at the girl elf. Her eyes, so beautiful.
“What is your name?” I asked her. She smiled and said, “Oralyn.”
Oralyn, I thought, a good elven name. I took her hand, kissed it, and said, “I must be going now, ma'am, my friends are waiting.”
She obviously enjoyed my nobleness and giggled. She nodded and turned away.
I left the hospital with a smile on my face. For once in my life, a smile!
I neared my house once again. Suddenly, I was knocked off balance by an explosion that came from the roof of my house. Shards of blackness rained down onto me. I dodged as best I could and hid under the outcropping on my wall. Something was shaking inside of me.
I moved the plants aside and ran into my house. Gryn was lying on the ground bleeding from his chest and the werewolf was nowhere to be seen...

I'm not sure I'd want him on my side in a fight if he rushes into things like that. Great way to get killed. lol. It was a great fight though.

mr. elf should have known better than to just intrude upon someones personal space. Although getting a severed arm is a bit extreme. ANd if elf magic enchanted the plants then why did he not know that? Shouldnt he have recognized his races magic?

he wasn't thinking of that. He was moving quickly and just wanted to get to the battle, because he knew that the mage was there. Adrenaline was pumping and it just slipped his mind.

    ......hmm

    stat > sat.

Don't take this as offensive...please...! I just sort of feel like something was rushed here. In previous chapters, you showed much more detail and care. I still enjoy the story line, but it just seemed like something was off for me with this chapter. It was short for three parts i guess. Again, please, don't take offense, i love it, just the writing style seemed to change for me here. And your missing ,'s here and there

I look forward to the next chapter..
