Loving You Forever

She stands there, at his side, wanting to be with him, but knowing that will not happen. She diverts her attention to a romance novel.  Oh how she longs to be that woman in the story.  In fact, the name is "A kiss to dream on". She reads of the way the gentleman in the story holds his lover tight, never letting go.1

"Oh why can't that be me?" she wonders out loud. 2

"Because you haven't given love a second chance yet!" states someone from behind her.  3

She whirls around to see the gentleman staring at her.  It is him!  All her life she has imagined the moment when he would finally speak to her.  Just those few words that he has said has set her heart aflame.4

"do you not know how to talk or are you just naturally shy?" he asks her5

"I know how to talk thank you very much." she replies with confidence6

"That's a good book you are reading.  I have read it before" he states to her, shocking her7

"I wanted to ask you something if you don't mind.  I have been watching you from afar for the longest time and I was wondering if you would like to go out with me cause I think you are a very special person." he asks8

She temporarily loses her voice and is unable to speak. 9

"Okay" she states unable to tell him her true feelings.10

She rushes home and closes her door, only to stare at his picture.  Three months have gone by and she still hasn't told him her true feelings yet.  She can't muster the strength to do so.  Every time he touches her, she stiffens up and wants to run away.  That has to do with being raped when she was 13 years old by a person who she thought loved her.  Every-time a man touches her, memories come flooding back to her and she just wants to go hide.  11

"I wont let this happen to me" she says to herself12

She promises herself that she will get over this and make love to that handsome man whom she can call her own. 13
