Norton the toad

While Norton was unpacking his stinky swamp – he took his home with him on his back because of the cosiness – he suddenly sensed someone was standing right behind him. He took a quick jump forward, made a summersault in mid air, and landed facing the sneaker, who asked in one breath: 1

Hankerstein:2

“Hello, I’m Hankerstein – but they all call me the annoying goat - seems like I’m going to be your new neighbour. What a magnificent jump you made there and why do you have this funny colour? Are you looking for something specific or are you just here to spend the summer? Can I ask who you are?” 3

Before Norton could answer, the goat ran off frantically towards the bushes and pushed his head in. 4

Norton:5

“What are you doing in the bushes?” 6

Hankerstein:7

“I’m hiding because I just pooed in Squables’ garden and I know he is very angry cause it’s a sophisticated tiger and he knows everything. How do you know I’m in here anyways?” 8

Confused by the dumbness of his annoying neighbour, Norton turned around to begin a journey through the forest to look for this Squables. He figured out this tiger would be a good opponent to fight with some magic.9

While Norton was following this path along the banana trees, he suddenly got a banana-peel upon his head. Boiling with fury, he lifted his head, and saw this slack-off monkey hanging between the branches. 10

Norton:11

“Hairy monkey, yellow furrball; you made me mad, you pay this toll.” 12

As a true wizard, Norton casted this spell upon the monkey, looking now like a giant yellow furrball, and because his arms and legs were gone, he couldn’t hold the branches anymore and fell on the ground. 13

Larkson:14

“Why did you do that to Fredrick? He’s just a simple monkey that didn’t see you walking underneath him.” 15

Norton looks into the direction where the voice came from, and sees a panda coming his way. 16

Larkson:17

“I’m Larkson, known as the peacekeeper of this forest. I’ve seen the things that happened and I’m sure of it that Fredrick didn’t do this on purpose. I’m having enough trouble with Squables for the moment to keep him on the right path, so please undo this spell otherwise...” 18

Norton:19

“Otherwise what?”20

Larkson:21

“Otherwise I’ll have to punish you. I’m really not into violence of any kind, but since I was always striving for peace in this forest, I’m graded to the peacekeeper, and got these mighty powers by the Supreme Council of Crappy Wizards to use them in the name of peace.”22

Norton:23

“Aah, you have magical powers eh... Well, I’ll turn Fredrick back normal, if you turn ME normal again”.24

Larkson gave his word and so Norton turned Frederick back into a monkey.25

Larkson:26

“You see? It wasn’t that difficult to do good, now I’ll turn you back into your original form.”27

And so, Larkson speaks out a spell28

Larkson:29

“oh toad, oh toad who came from far, I’ll turn you back in whatever you are.”30

Thinking that he became a human again, Norton wanted to thank Larkson enthusiastic, but he was disappeared without leaving a trace. Fredrick too, had run off, so Norton thought they were scared because they didn’t expect him to be human. So he follows his way through the banana-trees in order to find Squables.31

After a 10 minute walk, Norton ended up at this giant lake and heard this roaring laughing sound figuring out it must be from the tiger he was looking for.32

Squables:33

“What happened to you? Are you the pink toad that came to bully me?”34

Norton:35

“Yes, it is me, but as you see I’m human again with a bit help of Larkson.”36

Squables:37

“Human? Hahahahahahaha, Are you sure? Just look in the lake, then you’ll see your reflection”38

Norton lifted an eyebrow, and wondered what Squables meant with this remark. He walked further to the water, and with a bit of hesitation, he looked into it. Shocked by his looks, he stumbled back, and bumped into a tree.39

Norton:40

“Oh my god, what has Larkson done? He made some kind of...creature out of me. I’m no longer a pink toad, but the way I look now...”41

Squables:42

“You have to admit, you’re something unique now. Tell me, where have you ever seen an orange snail, with ostrich legs, flowers as a tail and a tomato-nose? Larkson didn’t realize that he can’t overdue a spell made by a wizard that’s a member of the Supreme Council of Crappy Wizards and so you became like this.”43

In all of his madness, Norton didn’t see the fireworks coming out of his behind heating up his tail. The warmth was so intense, that the flowers caught fire and burnt his bottom. With a loud yell, Norton jumped into the water to put out the fire ruining his flowers. The laughing of Squables made him so mad that he decided to turn him into a tiny little ant, so he could crush him with his big ostrichfoot. Though when he tried to cast this spell, Norton discovered that he lost his magical powers. In stead of changing Squables into an ant, his nose was growing bigger...44

BAM!45

His nose exploded and covered a huge part of the forest with tomato juice. While Norton was picking up the pieces of his nose, he didn’t see the animals of the forest coming closer to look where the big bam came from.46

Larkson:47

“You see, as I told you before, you never get far when you want to use your powers for bad things. I didn’t succeed in changing you into your normal shape cause your mind is too wicked. I hope you learned your lesson now.”48

Fredrick:49

“Chump-chump-chump......”50

Hankerstein:51

“YUMMY, exploded tomato with banana-peel”52

Excitedly, Hankerstein runs towards the banana-peel, picks it up and dips it into the tomato juice. Suddenly he realizes that he pooed again in Squables garden and sets off to the bushes and again, only pushes his head in.53

Norton:54

“How can I ever get human again?”55

Squables:56

“As I’m the sophisticated tiger, I can feel that you’ll get your normal shape back, when you promise the Supreme Council of Crappy wizards never to use your magical powers again to harm innocent animals...”57

Larkson:58

“...And I can tell them a good word about you to help you and to excuse me for changing you in this ostrich legged orange snail with a flower tail and tomato-nose.”59

After this wonderful promise, a smile brighter than the sunshine appeared on Norton’s face and when the chief of the Wizards gave him back his human-form and his magical powers, they lived happily ever after.60
