The Freak Show (3)

I am power,
I am fear,
I tower,
Above those near.1

I am love,
I am hate,
But not above,
That of my fate.2

The humans hold,
My life on a wire.
My home is cold,
Burnt from fire.3

They don't like me,
It sickens me so.
How they could glee,
About pain in this show.4

Eight years I've stood on this land,
Four years I've lived in this cage.
And when they don't feed my demand,
They will feed my rage.5

My time here will expire,
And I will escape.
The keeper will burn in fire,
And his ashes take shape.6

Although I know,
That time is soon.
I mustn't throw,
The normal tune.7

The keeper will near,
For the daily feed.
When I will spear,
And he will bleed.8

The freaks will watch,
And they will cheer.
Finally we can roam free,
No more fear.9

Although the word will spread,
Of our 'tragic' release.
And those who hunted us,
Will hunt us once more.10

The dream of being free,
Won't last forevermore.
Some of us will flea,
To a better land.11

But those who remain,
Remain forever.
Taken by lasting pain,
In their growing endeavour.12

But once again,
One freak will stand.
Killing the keeper,
Just as planned.13

But,
Our time has not yet come.
So,
We shall wait to kill the scum.14

Until then,
May you enjoy,
Us living below,
In the Freak Show.

Author notes

The Freak Show grows,
More everyday.
The marvelous glows,
Of those for display.

Gee. That made complete sense. Thanks for not saying straight out what you were writing about. Great job, and thanks. Good luck.
