Time of dragons

Long ago in the smallest part of Asia a girl called  awoke. She walked to the window ,her robes blowing in the breeze that came threw her little mud house, and looked out to where the sky should have been, there were trees in the way but enough light got threw to tell her that she was late. She quickly changed into her leaf green shirt and pants and bolted out the door. The trees to ether side of her rose up high into the sky and leant over the path to lean on their partner. The clicks and squeaks of jungle beetles were almost as loud as the squawks and caws of the birds. A shadow climbed up over her and she turned to see a tiger. In her panic she almost fell over but she managed to get far enough away before it could get through the canopy. Finally she reached the house she needed to reach. The house of her good friend . He had promised to teach her to drive his  Dragon, . That’s how long ago this was, during those days a dragon was at every turn and most of them were used for good. But some were used for wrong. The army’s of the king consisted mainly of  the deadly giants of the sky,  the serpents of the land and sometimes even  the masters of decapitation but  was merely a bus. Nothing more and nothing less.  climbed the spiralling stair up to the huge tree top house and knocked on the door. Some of ’s sons and daughters flew out the window but that was about it.  was a  who  would fly on in his spare time. Oh how she longed to fly but she hadn't a dragon rider’s licence or a keeper’s, riding  was fine though, He was a dragon but ground based dragons like him didn't require licences to own or use.  called out to her 1

Hey you want to learn how to ride or not?  raced across the strong hard canopy to the saddle of the giant reptile ox and gave  a hug.2

I knew you wouldn't leave without me. She said joyfully.3

The dragon began to move onward and jumped to her seat and locked her belt to the saddle. Back then this was how seatbelts worked and they actually killed half the people who used them but no one knew this so they went on using this method until later on. plodded onward and as they passed the tiger poked her tongue at it to make fun of the fact that despite ’s sloth slow speed the tiger would never be able to get at them. A herd of ran under ’s feet and scared him. and were forced to jump onto the canopy and face the tiger.4

Meanwhile in a hunter by the name of was sharpening his teeth on a piece of copper. In this age the greatest of the warriors were s. The s would only hunt with their teeth as a tribute the great dragon . had around his neck an axe shaped pendant which had been handed down to him by his father who had it handed down to him by his farther so on and so forth. His leather tunic was studded with scales, along the hems hung gold orbs and beaded onto the back was the image of a silver snake.5

Where’s me stake? called in his usual hardcore manner.6

It’s coming its coming! The bartender replied fearfully. He didn’t have any steak so rather than loosing his life over it he sent his son out to get some.7

For your sake it better be! I could eat a sighed still sounding like he was ready to rip of heads. That was the thing with s. To them nothing was going the right way until it was going their way. The bar’s glass roof offered a clear view of the endless showing off of s and their owners who had made it into the end of year contest. In the wild s were unbeaten predators in only black, brown and tan but these much feared dragons after many years also became the greatest of show animals in pinks, purples, yellows, blues, greens and any other decorative colour including the rear few in gold and silver. s have long necks and tails with a pointed face on the end of the neck. They have massive wing spans and, for show, are decorated with things like their name, their owners name or insults directed at the other competitors. The end of year contest was the most important event in the life of anyone with a . In the distance the voices of two such people could be heard: is superior to your… pet. One said as a teal coloured corkscrewed into a flip which ended in a barrel roll.8

Yes you have taught him some good tricks but the competition tests both dragon and rider. You would simply get in our way. The other replied.9

Then at least you won’t win.10

No one ever said I wouldn’t be wining. Besides you won’t be ether.11

The argument stoped there. When turned back to the bartender to ask again about his steak he found it sitting on the counter waiting.12

Thanks. He sighed before picking it up in his hand and biting into it.
