Dirty Girl 3

For Lee, who I’ve known for years, but only recently seen as the guy I want to be with.1

Lee’s family came over for dinner one night.  I was actually nervous.  I even spazzed about what to wear and I never do that.  Actually I’m pretty nuch the opposite of that-my friends all laugh at me for being such a tomboy.2

When they came in I had to serve the drinks.  Every time I passed Lee I shifted my eyes away.  He looked so cute that all I really wanted to do was stare at him.  Well, not all…lol.3

At dinner Lee and I sat beside each other.  His foot rested on mine.  Or at least I think it did.  I sneaked a glance at him, but he wasn’t acting any different.  I moved my foot a bit.  Still nothing.  I guess it wasn’t him.4

He caught me staring and laughed “What’s up?” And then I managed to have a completely normal conversation with him, which was strange but lucky under the circumstances.5

As dinner wore on I forgot to be nervous and Lee and I went back to normal.  As we were arguing over something really trivial, I found myself smiling, and I didn’t realize why until later.6

Lee and I finished quickly and went upstairs to my room before anyone could ask us to wash dishes or anything.  Normally boys weren’t allowed in my room, but Lee was an exception.  I guess my mom assumed that we’d known each other for too long so nothing would ever happen.  Before I liked Lee, I would have completely agreed with her.  At that moment I was really glad she thought that way.  I was hoping Lee wasn’t thinking along the same lines.7

We were sitting on the floor, leaning against my bed.  We were playing the oldest but the best game ever-Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 64.  we always played that game when we hung out because we were about the only people who still had Nintendo 64.  I never win though; Lee is way too good at it.8

“Oh my god!  How come you always beat me?!” I laughed.  And I realized how close we were sitting.  I looked up at him.9

He laughed at me and smiled “because you suck!” And then he kissed me.10

The world seemed to stop as our lips met.  My eyes fluttered closed as he wrapped his arms around me.  It was magical and real at the same time.  I loved the way he held me.  I loved the way he kissed me.  But most of all I loved the way he looked at me when we stopped.11

And that is how we started going out. 12
