I was cold, but the snowy landscape and inky night sky was so beautiful that I couldn’t tear my gaze away from it. I pressed my palms flat to the window panes and felt the glass drink in my warmth. I allowed it, feeling very charitable. Everything was beautiful and perfect on this night.1
A warm hand smoothed down my shoulder and I tried to contain my shiver. She pressed close to my back, melding her feverishly hot body to mine and I gave up on hiding it and shuddered in her embrace.2
“You’re like ice,” she murmured softly into my ear.3
“And you’re on fire,” I replied, turning my face towards her. God, she smelled incredible.4
“So, together we make steam?” she joked.5
I laughed. Even the corny jokes were perfect on a night like this. Could it get any better, I wondered. When would I wake up and this enchanted night end?6
“What’s wrong?” she whispered, wrapping her arm loosely over my shoulder. We were almost perfectly matched in size and shape, so I maneuvered a little so that I cuddled into her, hunched so that I could soak up her heat.7
“What are you looking at out there?” She leaned forward a little, peering out into the dark, snowy world outside. Her loose hair slipped over her shoulders and my mind blanked as I watched her move.8
My God, she was beautiful. How had I somehow roped this girl? I’d noticed her when she walked into the club earlier this night. Everyone had.9
She was like a burning ember in a bed of cold coals. Her hair was all shades of warmth- from deepest sienna to fiery honey, a sweep of silken tresses. Her golden skin was all smooth and luscious over curves so sweet that I could fail miserably to wax poetry over them. And those chocolate-dark eyes had burned when they touched mine, made my heart jolt into an uneven rhythm; eyes that had ignored all of the other guys and girls who’d been under her spell.10
I was a sensible girl. I didn’t believe in magic or love at first sight. It was all silly. 11
And yet, standing there in that loud, raucous club, it was as if we were suddenly alone. As if she and I were the only ones in the whole universe. If she was some sort of burning celestial goddess, then I was suddenly stuck in her gravitational pull, orbiting hopelessly around her.12
And it made my blood pound and boil, the recent memories of us together. Holding her hand in the cab ride to my place, a gentle, stolen kiss at the door before I could get it unlocked, and then ... bliss.13
Her velvet skin had slid against mine in such incredibly agonizing glory as we moved together. Her throaty moans had filled my ears, her throat bared as she arched in my arms and I vervantly showed my appreciation and worshipped her body. I shivered again as phantom quakes wracked my body at the greatness of it all. 14
“What’s making you think so hard, sweetheart?” she murmured. She touched my chin with a single finger, gently bringing my eyes to meet hers.15
Staring into her eyes, I believed. I believed in unicorns and Santa and magic. I believed in the delicate new blooms of love.16
“I was just thinking about you,” I answered honestly.17
Her hand slid up to cup my cheek and my heart stuttered a bit again. “Well, I’m right here.”18
I sighed, leaned forward to rest my forehead against hers. My solid dark hair mingled in her golden mane when I opened my eyes. “Yeah, you are.”19
She took my hand and led me from the cold window, towards the warm bedroom.20

This was so amazingly fantastic that I think I just changed my sexual orientation! How many writers can claim that little power??
Seriously, Grey- this was beautiful and erotic and moving and thunderstruck! You have a talent to produce the most tangible imagery I have seen in many many moons!
*stands up and claps LOUDLY!*

I like this! If my best friend was here, she would laugh at the thought of girl with girl but I like it. Because it shows that you don't always have to be with that one gender, yo can be with with your same gender. Well anyways...BRAVO!

Incredible. Second time around and I still took in every word. This was beyond amazing. I'm not usually one who likes non het love stories, but this is an exception. This is so beautifully written and emotionally lovely. Great job!

Such beautiful imagery... I credit you for that, it was breathtaking in all its beauty.
I would love to see more of this, or an expanded story within the bases of this plot... it really moved me and made me feel that despire her values she was willing to see that magic existed inside a single touch
Well done
