Never give up (Chapter 2)

April stood in shock. It was her friend Katelyn. There was something wrong, she was crying hysterically and she had bruises all over her face. Her hands were full of blood and she ran to her friend.1

" Katelyn, Whats wrong what happened?"2

" I-I can't stay at home r-right n-now" she said shaking so badly she couldn't talk hardly.3

" It's o.k hunny, just tell me what happened and I will get us some tea" April said while walking her friend over to the couch.4

She tried to give her friend some comfort but she couldn't do much because she was still hurt and in shock from that morning. She thought back on that morning events and quivered. She shook the thought from her friend as she noticed Katelyn looking at her with tear stained eyes.5

"April, is everything o.k with you? Why do you have all those bruises on you? And I didn't notice but this place is a wreck!"6

April just looked down knowing her friend would ask more questions if she were to just come out and say it.7

" I....ummm...fell down the stairs and umm....then tripped over the rug when I was going to get back up" April lied.8

Little did she know, her friend knew about what happened,she knew Cody was here for she had seen him run out of the apartment just minutes before. April had made up some lie she thought to herself but from the look on her face and the way she had looked when she answered the door she knew what happened. She felt bad, she tried to warn her about Cody because she knew what he was capable of, she knew how he left you in so much pain that you just wished you would die.9

" April I know what happened, I just seen Cody leave here."10

April looked at her friend in shock. How did she know? Did she watch? What's going on here?11

" April I tried to warn you about Cody, I told you to stay away from him but now look where your at. What exactly happened here?12

Katelyn thought that maybe trying to get her friend to talk about what had happened to her she might not have to think about what had just happened to herself.13

April began to tell her story of what had occured earlier that morning. It was so painful for her to go back and replay what had just happened.14

" Wait...Katelyn you showed up today crying and you were all beat up,what happened with you?15

Katelyn knew she wouldn't be able to get out of it this time.16

"Ugh....well....It was my dad again......I don't wanna talk about it right now o.k?"17

April knew what she was talking about. It was the reason none of the girls in the neighborhood wanted to stay at Katelyn's house anymore. It was more like a house that children dare to go into anymore. April had learned herself that just being in that house was torture.18

"It's o.k Katelyn, I understand."19

The girls sat there in silence for a while until Katelyn finally spoke up,which April was grateful because she knew Katelyn wanted to tell her something. But what April didn't know was that what she was about to find out would change their lives forever.
