Sky

    Sunlight streamed through the window as I opened my eyes. I awoke on a couch that didn't belong to me. Squinting, I got up and continued to examine my surroundings. I was in a living room of some sort.1

    "You're finally awake," said a woman's voice that I vaguely recognized. I didn't see anybody here and wondered if I was delusional or if this was all a dream. But then, a figure stepped out of the shadows in the walls and I rubbed my eyes to confirm that what I was seeing was actually real for it felt as if I was in a movie. She slowly steps closer to me and the sound of her heels go click-clack. 2

    Not really understanding what was going on at this point, I ask the obvious question of, "Who are you?"3

    Stopping midstride towards me, it appears as if she's unsure how to answer my question. She finally says, " You may call me Lianne. You're a tiny little creature aren't you? Why couldn't they have chosen a more appropriate person?"4

    What the hell? Thoughts raced through my mind but the only thing I thought that I knew for sure was that she is not a friend, but a foe. I stepped back and saw a door which was slightly ajar. Not thinking about exactly where I was, I got up and ran straight for the door.  I made a quick glance back and was surprised to see the she wasn't chasing after me. In fact, I think that she was even happy to see me go for the door. I opened the door to see clouds and birds. Because of how fast I was running, I plunged into the sky screaming, wanting something to hold onto. I grabbed a pipe coming out if this...this... house, that was floating in the sky!5
