"hello my name is Tamara," she would say when asked 1
"it's so cold" she whispered, "and so new to me" 2
its ironic to live in northern Ontario for 7 years but only toughing this one. 3
"I like it" she would say. how sad that this would be the last time she would be out in the cold,4
that she never had a chance to feel the summers sun "I'm leaving soon, right?" she said "i get to go visit my mommy and my grandparents."5
"Will my daddy be there?" she asked 6
"yes" i said with a tear in my eye. 7
her father came in and took her hand as she lay in the bed, "happy birthday Tamara" he said to her. this year she did not want cake but she did want her 7 candles. she did not blow out her candles but instead let them burn the light flickered and the flame swayed back and forth. 8
She then closed her eyes and said "I'm getting tired, its sleep time" Tamara said faintly "good night daddy goodnight Dr sindell" she then closed her eyes9
"good bye Tamara" her father whispered with one hand on hers and the other wiping away the tears10
"rest well Tamara" i said as i left the room.11
