She lay in bed, lost in her own thoughts. Her eyes were closed and her hair was spread out around her head. She was slipping in and out of sleep, though in this state she realized she was looking at her personality. She could see what others thought of her and what she truly was. It was amazing to see herself from another persons perspective.1
Some things were close to her true self whereas others were far off. People saw her as rude and anti-social, but in reality she was hurtful to cover up how vunerable she was and somewhat shy. They thought she was stupid, but she played as such so they couldn't see her true self. They thought her naive, but truely she could see straight through their lies.2
It was strange how she had created two complete different worlds for herself; their world, and her own. Though in creating her other personality she had shielded her vulnerable body and mind from the harsh reality around her. The people she knew were cruel. Kids during this time were harsh and judgemental. She protected herself from them. She didn't show them that they hurt her. She never would.3
She could see through people most of the time. Some of them could hide their true personalities from her, but most couldn't. She could see how they really were. That innocent, childish girl in her school was really a backstabber. The boy everyone opened up to because they thought he could keep quiet would replay information to everyone around him. He opened doors to strangers that ought to be left closed and bolted. The drug dealer had a hard time at home with his abusive parents. That preppy cheerleader who is now a whore was raped and is trying hard to block out those memories.4
Yes. She could pull up faces and personalities of each of these people. Though, there were some she could not see. The quiet boy who is always enclosed with athletic boys came to her. He told her how he disliked the boys he had seemed to get along with so well. She didn't see that in him. He always seemed to happy with everyone around him. Why had he come to her? Could he see through her protective dome?5
The worry-some thought disturbed her from her near sleep. She opened her eyes, going over everything she had just seen. She rolled over and pet the cat next to her. "If he can see through me can everyone else?" She thought for a moment then tossed it aside. If everyone could see through her she would already be in hell. Would he tell? Would he tell his fake friends so they could torment her and make her life miserable? No. Surely not. The cat meowed softly, purring and closing her eyes as her owner scratched behind her ears.
