Origin: Born in New York, traveled the world with his supposed 'father' Lorenzo. Current residence is Colorado.14
Love Interests: Brook Storm, a very pretty vampire slayer/vampire. (crazy, I know)15
Likes & Dislikes: He likes blood (to be expected), being alone, and protecting Brook against the evil Werewolves. He dislikes Werewolves, Lorenzo (father) and Marco (creator), human food, when someone threatens Brook. (watch out)16
Virtue(s): Enjoys killing Werewolves who threaten society. Kills only to survive, not for personal enjoyment.17
Vice(s): Murders on a daily basis, short temper. (extremely so) Has been known to lie through his teeth.18
Ambition/ Desire: He has pretty much devoted his life to protecting Brook, making sure no harm comes to her which he cannot control. He also desires to rid the world of vampires, he despises them. And himself at times. (But who wouldn't? I mean, he's a mass murderer for crying out loud!)19
Conflict: Wants to kill Brook, but if he so much as bites her, he would die also, for her blood is posionous. His siblings aren't fond of Brook because she is a slayer.20
Vocation/ calling: He doesn't really know. He figures it is to rid the world of people who could threaten the human race. (he has fun killing people like that)21
Additional: He has three other vampires that he calls his 'siblings' Bruce (oldest brother) Jackson (youngest brother) Eliza (only sister) His father is evil, and he wants to kill him. Although he never gets the chance. He also comes very close to killing Brook a time or two.22
♦ Sample Scene ♦ 23
Josh is sitting at the edge of the rocky ledge, over looking the Colorado River, thinking about various things. A growl sounds from in the distance, and he snaps his head around to find a Werewolf coming towards him.24
He crouches on the ground, getting ready to strike. His lips curl over his fangs as a snarl rips from his chest, the Werewolf however, does not even flinch. Its yellow-orange eyes stare at Josh, picturing him dead. The Werewolf goes in for the kill, but Josh reacts too quickly, and knocks the creature to the ground.25
He lunges again, going for the beast's hairy neck. His fangs sink deeply into the Werewolf's flesh, penatrating it with Josh's venom. The Werewolf howls out in pain, calling for others. Josh drinks deeply, for his eyes have been a deadly black for many days now. In a matter of moments, the beast's blood is all but gone, and it returns to its human form.26
Josh hears a rustle in the bushes, and out comes two more Werewolves, waiting for a battle. Josh smirks, knowing the fight is already won, and silently steps over the lifeless body of Bianca's father...

Wow! This was very well written! I like you take on vampires and werewolves, especially with the familiar conflicts between the races. Josh seems like an interesting character, especially since he wants to rid the world of vampires and werewolves that threaten society, yet he has vamp family members and he is one himself. The story clip was too short! I wanted to read some more of it! lols Great work!

Josh comes across as a fairly typical vampire - his motivations and goals seem to be similar to many 'regretful vampires' - those that try to live by some sort of moral code and protect humanity rather than hunt them. I quite enjoyed the little action scene with the werewolf. -

I'm really glad that your enjoy his character, but I am sad to say that the entire novel has once been posted on here....but after i finished it I decided I'd like to get it published and I removed it.....I don't want any copywriters stealing my idea! I do love a good vampire story and your profile was an intruguing one to your story- Which I have a feeling I may have read- or may not have.

The idea that inspired the story was that I was thinking one night about things (I had just finished reading the Twilight Series, which is what started my vampire fascination craze) and I thought why not have both hunters fall in love? A slayer and a vampire, I thought it was perfect. There is nothing more wrong than a romance between eternal enemies, bound to kill one another until one race reings over the other. And the character I decided had to be troubled, but not just with the fact that the one whom he loves was destined to kill him and vice versa. His troublement would come from his past, and the secrets he chose to keep, no matter how many lies he had to tell to keep them safe.
As for the sample from the story, I actually had this entire novel posted here once. I then decided I'd like to publish it, and I removed it. I have re-posted a single chapter for you and your contest. The link is below.
