Today, as I was looking through my desk, I came across something. I noticed my old address book: I brought it to camp, wrote my friends down in it, and brought it to other large events. I flipped through it, just to recall who these people who I didn't remember.1
First I found some of my old friends, friends whom I really haven't talked to in awhile. Then some family members, close and far. Then I stumbled across a girl's name. 2
Everybody says they have flash backs now and again, vague...or not. But it was insane how everything just flashed before my eyes. Her name was Kate. I was basically best friends with her for 3 days, when I had no other friends. We were at a renunion.3
I haven't talked to Kate in 2 years, in fact, I haven't seen her in 2 years from this exact date, and probably will never see her again.4
I kept flipping through the book, and I found other names. It made me really sad to think of how we would probably never ever see each other again. They could be dead for all I know.5
But I realized that all these people taught me amazing lessons. Kate taught me that a little kindness could go a long way. Greg taught me to be different, Lauren and Courtney taught me friendship. 6
I know I might have described these people pretty cheesily, but it's so crazy to think that they make me think about life differently, and they don't even know it.

Author notes
1. I haven't posted a story in a million years
2. I was seriously thinking this and even if I didn't write it right they had a really big impact on my life.

"I flipped through it, just to recall who these people who I didn't remember." The sentence is a little awkward, and the first who is unnecessary.
There are one or two other awkward sentences- but nothing major at all!
It is well thought out and written, and you get your emotions across clearly (always good!)
I can also really relate to this (I am 13 too) and at our age everyone seems to drift away from each other for one reason or another (sucks, doesn't it?)
Well done!
