Adrian found himself outside during the day, walking around town. Indeed, the sun did not harm him, but he needn't worry about that anyway, as it was another cloudy and dreary day in London. He was lost in thoughts, thoughts of the mysterious woman that had rattled his head so. He still couldn't explain why he felt such a pull toward her. He didn't even know her name.1
Ahead on the street, he saw the paper boy calling out for people to buy papers from him. Adrian hadn't bothered to look at the newspaper yet today, and he didn't have any interest in reading it. Out of the corner of his eye, he caught the headline on the front page. "Vampires in London?" printed in bold black letters. His breath caught for a split second as he tried to regain his composure. He swiftly walked over to the boy and bought a paper.2
