Irish Idiots Chapter 6

“Courtney… It’s Misty” Kay said.1

“What do you mean ‘it’s Misty’? She disappeared 4 years ago and –“2

“…Came to Middle Earth. She found a way to travel to the 1st plane like Tolkien did.”3

“Why is she unconscious though?”4

“A group of elves patrolling the border saw her body and brought her to me, so I don’t know.” Galadriel said. 5

They heard a groan emit from the dark haired girl. “Misty,” Galadriel spoke softly, laying her hand on her forehead. “Here my voice, and come back to the light” 6

Misty’s eye lids fluttered open and slowly focused on her surroundings. Once her eyes focused on Kay she jumped up with a fireball in hand. With Kay’s new goddess powers she had a fire ball of her own but it wasn’t fire, it was a dark blue sphere.7

“You evil wench!” Misty yelled.8

“What is your problem? Do you even know me?!” Kay yelled back.9

“You’re evil spies of Sauron! You have dark hair and powers like mine! No one has my powers, no one!”10

“I’m the Goddess of War, you imbecile! I have powers that far exceed yours!”11

“Impossible, the only heir to the powers of that goddess is on the 2nd plane of existence! I know because she’s my best friend!”12

“If you were my best friend don’t you think you would recognize me?!”13

“Kay?”14

“Duh”15

“But your hair, your eyes, and your ears…”16

“My true form on Middle Earth is an elf and my new powers changed me completely.”17

“Well I never thought I’d see the day when a new foundling was more powerful than me” Misty teased.18

“Where did you go 4 years ago?”19

“I was doing spells one night, to try to open the portal to middle earth, and I found it. I tried to close it but it wouldn’t close and it pulled me in.” Misty sighed heavily and sunk back down onto the couch.20

“How is it you were able to see us on Halloween?” Courtney said as she spoke for the first time since Misty awoke.21

“Didn’t you listen to anything I told you at breakfast?” Galadriel interjected rudely.22

“But that would mean that she-,”Courtney started to say.23

“Died,” Misty finished.24

“How?”25

“I was thrown into an orc camp and they killed me on the spot. I was sent to the plain of the dead. I waited until I thought you were ready to tell you to come to middle earth. I didn’t know Ethan was going to murder you or I wouldn’t have bothered.”26

“But how did you come to middle earth?” asked Kay.27

“The Valar pulled me from the plain of the dead and put me in the woods of Lothlorien”28

“Oh”29

“Yeah, Kay I love your hair! I guess you were right when you said black looks better on you than brown and Courtney is that gold? Totally kickin’ man!”30

“Misty did the dead people shoot you up with some sort of drug?” Kay asked, raising her eyebrow slowly.31

“No, I was friends with a hippie from the 70’s. You’d get along great with her Courtney”32

“Shu’ up!” Courtney said in a heavy accent.33

“Shut up!” Kay and Misty mocked together.34

“Grr…I definitely didn’t miss that” 35

“You know you love us!” they said in unison.36

“I find it very odd that three friends, who come from the same plain, just drop into our world. You 3 have a purpose, we just need to find out what it is” Galadriel said.37

“Well thanks for pointing out the obvious!” Courtney spat out.38

Haldir, Orophin, and Rumil came bursting through the talon door. 39

“What in the name of all that is good and holy are you doing?!” Kay yelled.40

“Well… We were just worried because you both took off so fast” explained Rumil.41

“Uh huh”42

“Joxer the Mighty, Never wins a fighty, I think I’ll go eat worms!!” Courtney started singing randomly.43

“Oh my word…You are crazy!” Misty said44

“You just figured that out?” Kay asked her laughing.45

“Hey! Don’t mess with the stupid people!” said Misty.46

“What? I am not stupid!” Courtney yelled.47

“Dadadadadada dododododo dededededede….” 48

“They gave you coffee didn’t they?!”49

“Heheheh…how’d you know? Ohmigawd you’re psychic!”50

“No, you turn stupid when you have coffee.”51

“I’m leaving now before I ‘turn stupid’ too!” Galadriel said.52

“Stupidity isn’t contagious!” yelled Kay as Galadriel shut the door.53

“Who is she?” Haldir whispered to Courtney.54

“Oh she’s our best friend who happens to be a witch and used to be more powerful than us but now we’re goddesses so we’re more powerful than her! Especially Kay, she’s got that war thing going for her, and she has the attitude too!” Courtney explained.55

“I resent that” Kay said.56

Courtney went to her room.57

“Well I guess since Courtney is going to be a bad hostess I will show you to your room,” Kay said.58

“Okay, cool” replied Misty.59

Kay and Misty exited the living area, leaving the 3 brothers alone. They sat down on the couch to wait until one of them came back. A few minutes later Courtney came back out and smiled at them.60

“You guys are still here?” She asked.61

“Yeah,”62

“Sorry they left you alone. I didn’t know they were gonna leave,” Courtney replied.63

“It’s no problem”64

Courtney sighed and sat down on a love seat across from the couch Rumil, Orophin, and Haldir were sitting on.65

“Something troubles you” Haldir said.66

“Just thinking…” Courtney replied dizzily.67

“About what?” Haldir persisted.68

“I don’t know. I guess it doesn’t really matter…and you never answered my question!”69

“Erm…we really must be going!” Orophin said, grabbing Rumil’s arm and pulling him out the door. “Good night!”70

“That is a perfectly legitimate question; there is nothing stupid about it.” Haldir said.71

“So what’s the answer?” Courtney asked, crossing her legs. 72

“I honestly have no idea.” He sighed, blushing. “You should ask Galadriel.”73

“Okay,” she sighed, looking at the ground, “I hoped that I wouldn’t have to, but I guess I do.”74

“So…” Haldir searched for a subject, “Can you tell me about your friend Misty?”75

“She’s one of my best friends, I guess, but she and Kay are better friends than I am with her. She’s a Wiccan and so is Kay, so I guess they have that bond thing…”76

“And you are not a Wiccan?” 77

“No, I’m not. I’m a Christian, and I don’t believe that we’re supposed to do magic, no matter how much I want to. I’ve been interested in stuff like that for as long as I can remember! I read about all of it, but I stay away from magic. All my teachers told me it’s really bad or whatever, and I always disagreed, but it IS in the Bible, so…I just feel like I can’t or I’ll be committing a major sin.”78

“Isn’t Kay a Christian too?”79

“Yeah, but she says you can be a Christian AND study magic. I think that you pick one or the other, and I choose Heaven over Hell so I have to stay away from it.”80

“You don’t seriously believe that Kay will go to Hell for studying magic, do you?”81

“No. I don’t want to believe it, and I don’t think it’s true anyway.” She paused for a minute and shivered. “It’s freezing in here!”82

“Why don’t I warm you up?” Haldir asked, walking over to sit next to Courtney on the love seat. He put his arm around her and snuggled into her. “Are you comfortable?”83

“…Not really…” She said reluctantly standing up. 84

“Oh…” Haldir blushed and looked at the floor, “I guess I’d better be going. It’s getting late. Good night, milady.” He walked to the door and shut it behind him.85

“I wonder what he was doing…” Courtney thought as she stared after him. ”He seemed to be…I don’t know. I’m probably too tired. I bet it’s almost midnight!” 86

Courtney walked to her room and saw that Misty was already asleep in her bed. Kay was sitting in a chair and stood when Courtney came in. 87

“You’ll have to sleep on the sofa, I guess.” She whispered, “Sorry! Good night.” She walked into her room and shut the door. 88

“Oh well.” Courtney thought, finding an extra blanket in the linen closet. She laid down on the sofa and fell into an uneasy sleep.89

“What do you mean you wanted her to die?!” Jack screamed, hovering over Andrew’s shivering body. “You killed her, didn’t you?! Didn’t you?!” he kicked Andrew repeatedly. “Answer me, damn you!”90

“Jack, stop it! Andrew didn’t kill them! It was Ethan, remember?” Taylor said, trying to stop the fight. 91

“Taylor’s right, Jack!” Devin  yelled, “You need to stop, or the police will come! They might suspect both of you!”92

“Why the hell should they suspect me?! I was in damn love with one of them!” he yelled, collapsing in on himself and crying. The others were too busy trying to calm him down to notice Andrew pull out a cell phone and dial 9-1-1. 93

“Hello? Yes, police, I think I’ve found the murderer. He’s right here on 4th Maple Street in Dublin. Yes, thank you.” he hung up the phone and turned to face Jack. 94

”You’re going to be arrested in a few minutes, and I told them to bring back up because you’re a drunk maniac who’s most likely going to try to kill them. They just might shoot you if you struggle.” He laughed, punching him across the face. 95

“Damn you!” Jack managed through a bloody nose. “I’ll take you with me if they shoot; you know damn well that I will…”96

“They might not shoot. They might just take you to jail and all your jail mates will be very happy to have a new member…maybe there’ll be one that LOOKS like Courtney and he can be your lover?” he laughed as Jack’s face contorted with rage. 97

“Don’t you DARE!” he hurled himself off the ground at Andrew, who fell onto his back as Jack pummeled his face repeatedly.98

“This is for saying you’re glad” he punched Andrew as Harrison, Taylor and Devin tried desperately to get him off of him “that they’re dead! And this is for insulting…Courtney’s memory! And this…is for insulting me! And this…” he would have continued if the police hadn’t arrived just then. 99

“Oh, God…” they heard one policeman mumble to another “Figures something like this would happen on Friday the Thirteenth!” 100

“Yeah, I know.” The other said, commanding all 7 officers to shoot them.101

“NOOOOOOO!…” Courtney screamed, waking up.102
