Philosophy. What Is it? 1
Most people would say that it’s a big steaming sack of shit, some will refuse to comment at all or dance around your question for fear of answering wrong, and a very few will tell you what it ACTUALLY is.2
It seems so complicated, doesn’t it? Defining philosophy? Well, that’s what dictionary.com is for.3

–noun, plural -phies. 1. the rational investigation of the truths and principles of being, knowledge, or conduct. 5
What the majority of people don’t understand is that there is more to life than right or wrong, good or bad. And the people who believe otherwise are called racist, sexist, terrorist.6
But even the people who give those names are doing exactly what the labeled ones did. They’re stamping a big “BAD” sticker on someones forehead and dropping them in one of two piles. The only difference at all between these two people is that one of them has a name attached to what they “are”.7
The point is, that there IS no good or bad, fact or fiction. Not all philosophies are going to be true, nor will they all be false, there are no wrong answers, and a definition means nothing.8
But, we all have free will. And that includes being as close or as open-minded as you wish. It means believing what you want to believe.9
And maybe I don’t accept philosophies until they are proven to me, but I believe this:10
You are lying to yourself. Even if you don’t know it.11
And when you think you have discovered what that is, ask yourself.12
What ELSE are you lying about? What ELSE are you ignorant of?13

That's really good. I'm into the whole philosophy thing, so this was very interesting to me. I wish I could write like this, it just doesn't get out right if you know what I mean. Good writing.

This sounds like something I heard in a lecture at one point. I belive that there is no good and bad, right and wrong when it comes to answering the big questions. Obvously you can't argue that one plus one equals two but on other subjects one person's right can be anothers wrong. I've never taken a philosaphy cource but a couple anthropology cources has caused be to debate phylosaphy myself. You make many good points in this, although it is little more then a deffanition and a little personal insight. Once more something I have read on this site has got my mind spinning.
And I beleive that people are blank and take to the situation in which they are raised. And Christianity is only one attempt at explaning this world, it is far from the answer. There will probably never be an answers. IF all the questions were given solid answers we'd just have to find new ones to question.
