Wrath


She had once been graceful, like the most delicate branch on a willow tree.
Swaying in the breeze, the wind picking up her hair and flowing skirts.
A dancer? Why, yes! Yes, she was.
But not in competitions or for show. She was her own dancer, she enjoyed the feel of muscles moving to a beat that was nowhere to be heard except in her head.
But that's not the truth anymore.
Now, she dances inside of her kitchen.
She dances to her baby girl. She dances to the loneliness she has, because it's just her.
Because there was that one boy who had inspired this gracefulness.
Cliche? Why, yes. Yes, it is.
She doesn't care, she danced to his music, the music in his eyes.
She saw it everytime he dared to look at her.
But he's not there anymore. For reasons that are too complicated and too silly to repeat.
So she dances for her little baby girl, moving her from a highchair to a crib.
But, maybe, if you look very closely, you can still see the grace, the beauty that had resided within the very core of her.
That disappeared with that boy.

    Wonderful descriptions!
    It's a short piece of writing but it's really really good! <3
    I like the way how you can feel that she's hurt even though you've presented her as a light, almost joyful character. The fact that she danced for herself is great too it makes her sound more pure and light.
    Most of all I love the fact that you didn't say a word about oh, how poor she is, how much she misses him, how many tears did she waste and stuff, you've presented her in a quite optimistic light. It's a sad little story but it has a positive accent and I love this calm point of view.
