Fresh and sweet2
Unmown3
It is the colour of trees4
Stretching their leaves5
Forever higher6
And the hue of emeralds7
Precious8
Sparkling9
Glinting in the darkness10
I'll bottle it in a box of black11
Or mask it in heavy blue shadows12
Green is the colour of hope.13
Blue is the colour of the sky14
Eternal and Endless15
Huge16
It is the colour of turbulent seas17
Though through reflection only18
Forever present19
And the hue of turqoiuse20
Lumpy21
Plain22
Tinged with black23
I'll bottle it with a bowl of grey24
Or mask it in an ocean of red25
Blue is the colour of sorrow.26
Yellow is the colour of suns27
Enormous and uncontainable28
Warm29
It is the colour of sunflowers30
Always growing bigger until they diminish31
Forever bold32
And the hue of topaz33
Translucent34
Eyecatching35
Tough but not unbreakable36
I'll bottle it in a carton of red37
And mask it in a veil of grey.38
Yellow is the colour of excitement39
Grey is the colour of pavements40
Dull and lifeless41
Useless42
It is the colour of overcast days43
Hiding the sun and sky44
Forever in the way45
And the hue of granite46
Unnoticed47
Everywhere48
And difficult to avoid49
I'll bottle it with a shadow of black50
Or mask it with a crown of red.51
Grey is the colour of confusion.52
Red is the colour of blood53
Warm and painful54
Part of us55
It is the colour of roses56
Sharp and deceptive57
Full of promises58
And the hue of rubies59
Strong60
Expensive61
Not worth the cost62
I'll bottle it with a flask of blue63
And mask it with a cloud of black.64
Red is the colour of anger.65
Black is the colour of the night sky66
Dark and all-powerful67
Difficult to see through68
It is the colour of crows69
Dreaded and camouflaged70
Appearing when you least expect it71
And the hue of iron72
Strong73
Mouldable74
Diffuclt to live without75
I'll bottle it next to a tube of grey76
And mask it with a blanket of red77
Black is the colour of fear.78
White is the colour left over79
The colour of doves and dreams80
The colour left over when all other colours are reflected81
Not masked82
Or contained83
Or refracted.84
But reflected.85
White is the colour of peace.
Author notes
Hopefully it'll make you think. All the references to objects are chosen because they fit, for various meanings. Take your own meanings from it, as you see fit.
Note for Competition: I have entered anothe rpoem in this contest too. It is called 'From the Window'
* There! I changed the title. I don't know why, but the new title appealed to me, even though I've got no idea why/ if it fits!

Awesome!
wow, it has so much meaning to it. -
wow this really made me think about how much colour there is in the world and the fact that it would suck to loose it. this is really good, thanks for entering it

I like this it really does make you think. I tried to do poetry reflecting on color before but could never make it work. I do love this. Thank you for entering my contest and good luck.

I just noticed! The background picture is also symbolic! That's genius! /coincidental. But let's give the benefit of the doubt.

I chose the background because it has every colour I mentioned, and it shows how they all flow in and out of each other, blending together and seperating. Just like the emotions I mentioned. Does it have a different meaning to you?

Whoa...
This is a trip! About half-way through I actually fell into the rhythm of it and I just felt... wow. My head kind of throbbed and I kind got a dizzy feeling... I don't know, this was beautifully constructed and it flows so effortlessly it's feels like a mental trip to the beach and the waves of words and meaning are just flowing backward and forward and at one point I kind of got lost in what the words actually meant when strung together but I didn't want to slow down, I was just pulled along by the strong current of the RHYTHM... and the way you move to a next colour and you wrap it with another... oh my goodness... I could talk about this poem for ages... That rarely happens! I was so caught up! And it's lengthier than poems I'd want to read but it's just soooooo good! I... I love it. It's something I'd come back to and read over and over and over and I'd be sure to see something new every time. This sounds dramatic but it had a crazy effect on me. I love it. Wow. One second, I'll read it over and find fault.
You need a stronger title. There you go. Something bad.
