Why must I keep it a secret? Thought Ingrid for the billionth time that week. Why can’t I just tell one person about it, like my best friend? Why can’t I risk it? Well, nothing’s stopping me, so why not? And that was that, until another though washed over her mind. What if she tells someone, then nothing will be able to save me. But she’s not that sort of person, is she?1
Ingrid had just had a phone call from a relative in Australia, but no matter how happy that had made her, it still couldn’t drown the overwhelming secret she kept. And the burden that came with it. No-one would understand, except maybe Alicia. The two girls had known each other almost perfectly before, but something had begun to block their friendship. Ingrid knew Alicia was hiding something, and Alicia probably felt the same way about her.2
Maybe if I tell her my secret, Alicia will tell me hers.3
The gold and yellow leaves rustled in the light winter breeze, as she strolled through the small woods between Alicia's house and hers. It was an exceptionally cold morning, so Ingrid had worn her deep blue jacket and trousers. She had brought her light blue backpack, with today’s food in. But in about five minutes, she would arrive at Alicia's house, and wait for her by the ancient oak tree outside her house. It was quarter to seven on a Saturday, and Ingrid only hoped Alicia had remembered.4
Twenty minutes later, Alicia arrived. Her lilac top matched jet black hair perfectly, as did her trainers. Red in the face from rushing, she had obviously forgotten to turn on her alarm clock.5
“What have you got?” She asked Ingrid, in between breaths.6
“Oh, just some food, towels and about ten pounds last time I checked.” She replied, “So, shall we just head off to the beach now or get some food first?”7
“Definitely get some food first, I forgot to have breakfast!” She replied as the two girls began walking towards the bakery.8
As they neared their destination, a rich smell of sausage rolls drifted towards them from the old shop.

As the title suggests, this is just a random section of the story before either Ingrid tells Alicia her secret, or Alicia finds out on her own.
