As sindy read the e-mail again and again just trying to process the letters wriggling around on the screen. It sudenly struck her hard and fast that there may still be something she could do. She ran to the phone and dialed choes house number.....' ring.....ring........ring.............' No answer. Chloe's mobile. Switched off. 'Mum i'm going to chloes i'll be back soon' she screamed as she ran out of the door faster than her feet could carry her, tripping twice on the door frame. As she ran she thought. Chloe had already tried this twice but her mum had stopped her the first time and her dad had found her bleeding the second. But this time sindy knew that both of Chloes parents were on holiday. So who was going to stop her. Sindy. Sindy had to stop her. It was just the matter of getting there in time. Hopfully she would. It was at least two miles away but sindy was the fastest in her p.e class so she knew she could fun that in under five minutes. But. When had she done it. Sindy had only just receved the message but you never know with chloe. She could have already started.9

Running faster and faster. Finaly she gets to chloes street. She speeds to her door and colapses on it, gulping down air and knocking loadly. She hears chloes dog barking. It only did that when nobody was home? She colapsed on the floor barely able to breeth. Thinking. What could she do? Suddenly she realised that one of chloes best friends lived next door with a key. She got up with extream difficulty and jumped the fence to next doors garden. She banged as hard as she could on the door and demanded for it to be opened. 'comeing.... comeing' she heard from inside.10

"Quick!" Sindy said exhausted, "Quick... key... Chloe...Hurry!"11

"Calm down! Right you want Chloes key. Why?"12

"She's...she's my friend! Please, hurry!"13

"Well, I'm sorry, but se took it back yesterday, locked herself out, she is so forgetful sometimes!"14

"What!?! Well, thanks" Slowly, she was comming to her senses. She had to act quickly, as Chloes best friend closed the door, she turned round. Scouring the perimeter, she spotted a brick. It's my only chance she thought to herself as she picked it up.15

Sindy ran to the kitchen window and lobbed it through. She knew it had gone through because she had heard the confirming crash. As she clambered through the broken window, a shard of glass ripped through her shirt and tore into her hip.16

"Arghhhh! *bunny*!" she cried as she felt the pain, but she had little time or none at all, and ignored the fact that blood was drenching her shirt and splashing to the floor. There was much more at stake then her flesh, blood or welfare. 17

Sindy climbed up the stairs trying her hardest not to stain the walls, as she reached the top, she saw the dog, *bunny* she thought, the dog new her, but it was dark and she couldn't find the light switch. The dog growled.18

"No, Polly, itsme you dosy mutt!"19

Polly calmed down at the sound of her voice and came up to like her. Although Sindy was always kind to this dog, her friend was much more important. She pushed it away and ran for Chloes bedroom, she threw open the door and looked inside to find....20
