Survival City - Chapter 1

In this world, there is no such thing as a “fair” game. Only a “dog-eat-dog” world. ~ Mitsy1

Not long ago, some people had created a MAD program. This program was accidentally released world. How? We don’t know but what does it do you ask? It whipped out all the adults over 21. Now only anyone under 21 is still alive. However, things get much worse.3

Gang wars break out through the cities and everything is falling apart. People are fighting people to survive. Towns are being run by children who want to stop all this chaotic mess. The only way to do that is to destroy MAD but the only problem is, that there is very little information on it. 4

There are people who are trying to fight it. People who want this chaos to come to a stop…people like me. My name is Mitsuko Kiyoshi and I come from a city called Twilight. People over 21 has also been destroyed by MAD and the city is in chaos. I have gathered my friends up to help to destroy the MAD program in hopes of restoring order to our world. I fear that is an impossible mission but nothing is impossible if you try right?5

I only hope that one day soon, the MAD program will be destroyed before its to late. May God be with those who are trying to fight it!6

I sighed softly and closed my book and put it back in my bag. 8

Days like these just slowed down to a crawl. I have been living alone for a while now since the MAD program destroyed the adults. At first I was glad, who wasn’t? However, after a while Twilight City grew into nothing but chaos with gang wars. 9

I got up from my chair and walked down the hall of the empty house. It was kinda scary actually. It was a little too quiet for my likings but beggars cant be chooser ya know?10

I had found this abandoned house outside the city limits of a huge city known as Survival City. I’m hoping someone in there can help me out, or is willing to. The house was stocked with food and surprisingly, weapons. None of them swords, syths, daggers, kunais, or shuriken but they were guns with ammo. Masahiro would have fun with them and so would Nami.11

I laughed some to my self as I walked down the stairs. Being alone for a while did change someone a lot I had realized after staying by myself for a while. For one thing, to survive you needed to be fit. I was kinda glad that my parents where assassin spies working for the government before MAD destroyed them. Another thing is you have to think before you acted now. You just cant go around pointing a gun saying “Tell me what you know about the program MAD or I’ll kill you!” no…it doesn’t work like that. You have to be smart. After all…it is a dog-eat-dog world especially now.12

I walked out the front door of the house. I began to make my way to the city hopping through trees like an assassins daughter would. I had stopped in a tree spotting some people. They looked about my age, which I was glad for. I was watching them for a while listening. So far I had gathered that there was four of them standing around a garage. I also knew their names. 13

The one on the far left was called Zink, the one on her left was Raven, the next one left was Zarr, and the one on the far right was Ruby. I took careful note on how they acted toward each other. Then suddenly and army hummer came in and a male voice boomed out from the drivers side.14

“You guys aren’t infected are you?” The guy asked15

I rolled my eyes16

The one known as Zarr had instinctively reached for his gun and aimed it at the guy.17

“Who are you?” Zarr demanded as his dog beside him growled18

The one called Raven had followed Zarr’s movements, her eyes dead set on the new guy.19

“There's no way of telling who's infected. As far as anyone knows, everyone is. If you have information, share it!” Raven snapped20

The girl called ruby had just shrank back and went to grab something that I couldn’t see. I had to take a guess that it was something like shuriken or daggers.21

I smirked some watching them. I did love to sit back and see if things would work out or if a gang war would break out.22

“Drop the weapons." The guy in the army hummer said “We will talk like civilized adults here. I just came from the base outside of town. I have supplies, ammo and weapons.”23

Zink walks forward after looking at Raven as if asking her if she could make Zarr back down. There was a loud barking and growling from the garage and a German shepherd dog appears from the garage.24

Zink smiles her best friendly smile even know she is absolutely upset as to how he decided to drive down the drive 'in the middle of what seems know-where'. I laughed my head about how “plastered” her smile looked.25

“A civilized conversation eh? well I haven’t had one of those since talking a 17 year old guy into letting me get my GT 500.” Zink steps up to the hummer door but keeps her left hand on something near her back just incase “So what brings ya here kid? You read my blog already?” 26

Zink kept her best smile, mainly trying to figure out if he had information. Of he did, he was very useful to them.27

Raven had lowered her weapon from the guy and had nodded to Zarr to the same. Although I think he was reluctant to do so. 28

“I didn't bring you anything I am the commanding officer at the base. You are to relocate back there. I have the best way for survival. I have relocated many civilians already you guys are next.” The guy said “Let's go We'll convoy back to the base you will be given living quarters while my scientists friends find out what’s going on.” 29

‘I don’t think they will leave that easily’ I thought and jumped to another tree to get a better view of what was happening.30

"I'm not going anywhere. I just got here. You have NO authority over me, and you're not the only one looking for a cure." Raven said obviously a little ticked31

I’ hate to say but I told him so’ I thought 32

By now, Zarr had his weapon pointed back at the guy and he was glaring.33

“I’m not afraid to shoot you.” Zarr said dangerously34

“Relax,” Raven said “we’re trying to avoid fights remember?”35

Zarr moved back some as Ruby spoke up. She was so quiet I had almost forgotten she was there.36

“Zarr please try to keep calm.” Ruby said softly37

"Oi you stupid kids the army is the closest to the cure.” the guy said getting slightly annoyed “I know you are scared. I was too but we have a vaccine coming on the way so when you guys grow up you won't DIE and I am not afraid to kill all of you.”38

‘You idiot. Do you really think you found a cure? It isn’t something as easily cured as snapping your finger’s I thought bitterly39

The way Zink looked I’d have to say, calling her ticked would be an understatement. She was royally ticked off to the Extreme.40

“Ok that’s it!” Zink shouted and backed up pulling out a revolver “I’m the commander here. When you are here you take my orders and I order you to leave. You are NOT taking ANY of the civilians of Kent City”41

‘Man! Note to self: never try to take command ‘I thought to my self making it a mental note42

The German shepherd that earlier had come from the garage barked more fiercely and I notice that he could not go any further because he was leashed by chains. Zink had kept her eyes on the boy but with one swift command, the dog ceased, still growling slightly.43

‘Smart dog’ I thought smirking lightly44

“If where so stupid then why have we found out so much information already boy? YES we are scared! We are ALL scared. including you, you son of a -bad word-. you think we asked for this?” Zink was getting irritated but she kept her gun aimed at him45

“Your not the only one afraid to kill" Zink said his voice challenging 46

Ruby’s eyes had flickered from the Zarr to the army guy as if afraid a fight would break out any minute between them.47

"I don't have an issue with you. Don't make me have one." Raven said staying calm as she could then gestured to herself and Zarr "We also have information as well. We were trying to get it together and get Zarr’s shoulder stitched, which Ruby can do. If you want to find others to go with you, fine. But I'm not." 48

I smirked to myself listening to them.49

“Then die we will have the cure and we won't give it too you to stubborn to come to safety.” the guy said bringing a M16 out pointing it at Zink “Don't think about it. I didn't take anyone anywhere they came of their own volition.”50

‘Dang I thought this guy is a real jerk!’ I had reached behind my back and sat my hand down on a hilt. It was a hilt to my syth. The syth was connected to a very long chain. The chain rapped around my waist and my pants legs. When I walked it sounded like silver bells so when I moved I’d have to be very careful.51

“Well then you can get your punk -insert bad word- tail out of here because we're not coming!” Zink said her grip on her revolver was tight 52

I could tell that she wasn’t sure if Zarr or Raven was backing her up. I thought she was kinda brave for going in alone.53

“Don't make me hurt you CIVILIAN. Anyone who wants to come get in. We have supplies and nigh unlimited resources.” The guy said his voice was straining some54

Zink had started to laugh shaking her head. Her laughing was one of annoyance really. I sighed to myself shaking my own head but he began laughing himself.55

“Well then I'll have my Army buddies do a air strike on your pretty little property. Then it will just be a ugly crater in the godforsaken place." The guy said smirking as if he won56

‘This guy really doesn’t get it does her?’ I asked myself and took my hand of the hilt to my syth. ‘He’ll learn soon enough I bet’57

“I thought you wanted the world to survive kid! Make up your mind! If you wanna waste the -insert bad word- gas to do something as stupid as that be my guest.” Zink said almost shouted “You don’t even know how ignorant you are. So how much gas are you taking up in that piece of crap!”58

“We don't save stupid people again I am commander on the forces in the area. They do what I say.” The guy said arrogantly59

‘The only stupid person I see here is him’ I thought60

Zarr looked extremely ticked and fires a warning shot that was meant to intimidate the guy. It went flying past his head and I was surprised at how fast he moved.61

Ruby had gasped at Zarr’s irritated move but Raven drew in a sharp breath but didn’t say anything. She seemed to disapproved of disagreements in groups. I couldn’t blame her really, Zarr really needed to learn some control.62

“Ok well then you are wasting your time sitting here talking with us 'stupid' people. Run along kid and go bribe someone else more gullible with your candy and high tech crap” Zink said and turned her back to the guy walking to the garage 63

Zink had glanced at Raven, Zarr, and Ruby giving them a silent signal to follow her into the garage.64

“I won't bomb you but know now you and the rest of the gangs on the city are under surveillance.” the guy said pulling out a pistol “Shoot at me again and I will incapacitate you and charge with crimes against the army. Marshall Law is in effect.”65

‘Technically its not…the city is being ran by children so anything goes now’ I thought66

“BITE ME!” Zink growled when she turned around to look at him67

“Oh!!! Scary!” Zarr said laughing like an idiot68

“Zarr please stop it!” Ruby said her voice was quiet but Zarr heard it and stopped almost immediately69

“Alright calm down! Give me names and ages!” The guy said and shoots the ceiling of his hummer70

‘Man this guy really is the biggest idiot ever! Who would shoot his own hummer?’ I asked myself shaking my head71

I seen ruby make a move to tell him what he asked but Zarr had interrupted her.72

“Screw that!” Zarr said73

Raven had given Zarr a warning glare, not a glance. I seen he had to bite his cheek in order not to say anything he would regret.74

“No kid go away*“Zink said as she already turned back around and kept on walking to the garage 75

She stepped up to the left side of it where a key pad was at and punched in a few numbers. The third door opened and it revealed a shiny red Mach 1 mustang. I whistled out loud but I realized my mistake as I ducked behind more branches when Zarr looked around scanning the area.76

Zink had walked toward the dog to unleash him.77

“Moby come!” Zink said as the dog, called Moby, automatically went to her left side78

Zink entered the garage and walked around the old truck to the back end. She patted the flatbed of the truck with an open hand and Moby jumped up onto it and sat. There was a bullet proof dog vest laying on the counter behind her. She had grabbed the vest, turned around, and put it on Moby.79

“There you go boy!” Zink said and smiled as she threw a pig ear into the air80

Within less then a second, Moby’s large jaws and clamped down on the pig ear and devoured it.81

On the way to the GT 500 Zink grabbed a set of keys that were hanging on the wall. She had opened the passenger side door for Moby to get in and shut it behind him before walking to the driver side door. The mustang roared to life and Zink revved it to get it started. she put it in gear and laid off the clutch before slowly exiting the garage and stopping in the paved parking lot. 82

She got out with it still running with a huge grin on her face. she now had a pair of big white aviators on and she leaned against the hood of the car, arms across chest as if she were posing for a million dollar shot.83

‘Nice mustang’ I thought I had to remember to go still a nice car while I was here. Maybe from some unexpected rich place that had no kids.84

Zarr’s position is still aggressive as he points the gun at the army/navy/air force commander, wondering how someone so young could have organized others so young.85

"Get. Out. Of. Here. Now. Before. I. Shoot. You." Zarr said darkly86

Raven had turned her back and walks in a circle anxiously, knowing Zarr was infuriated. Raven bit her lip slightly, contemplating what to do.87

Ruby was the only one to have followed Zink.88

“Nice car!” Ruby said and gave a small smile “I hope Zarr doesn't kill the poor guy." 89

Ruby had began to look at the ground now. I wonder if she had something for Zarr.90

Zink looked back at the two arguing boys and the girl pacing back and fourth, clutching her fingertips to her temples. Zink busted out laughing “91

“Poor guy?” She asked and looked at Ruby from the corner of her eyes92

“Alright die then see what I care!” The guy said and started the hummer up and left93

‘Thank god!’ I though ‘That guy was really starting to bug me. Who is he coming in here like he owns it? Zarr should of laid him flat’94

I was about to leave when Raven started yelling at Zarr. So, I stayed to listen.95

"What were you doing?!?! You can't waste amo like that, we're on a limited supply! You're supposed to be the one that's street smart! Why aren't you thinking!" Raven shouted angrily at him96

Zarr looked mad as well. He was probably hopping he could of shot the guy thinking it would have been better to have.97

“Don’t give me that look!” Raven said her voice growing quieter “I know your trying to protect us but you need to control yourself ok?”98

“I know.” Zarr said just as quietly “But you know better then to ask me that.”99

I snapped by fingers. ‘Dang! I was hoping they would start a fight or yelled more. Oh well’ I thought and jumped out of the tree branch were I had been sitting ‘Guess its time to scope some other things out now’100
