Lovely Girls (prt 2) Training Dinner

People are chatting in the background; her voice in the foreground. When she speaks I smile, when she moves my eyes follow, and when she teaches I tend to learn. Well I don’t really pay attention because my eyes stay locked in with hers. “Micky are you even listening to me,” she shyly giggles out. I nod in response and keep smiling. Finally, I actually pay attention and learn how to work. 1

The rest of the day goes by really quick. After training we sit down have a cup of coffee. “So do I get to meet the little girl?” I can’t help but smile. 2

“Yeah, actually the babysitter is supposed to drop her off here in a few minutes.” I can’t stop staring into her beautiful brown eyes. Rachael runs a hand through her long sleek brown hair. I wish to run my hands through her hair. The thought makes me smile and completely oblivious to the fact that her daughter is right beside us. “Hey baby girl,” she hugs her daughter. “Jessie, introduce yourself.” 3

“Hi, my name is Jessie. I’m only three years old,” she holds up three fingers. She’s so cute. Rachael gives her a dollar to go get some water and she skips off.4

“She’s adorable, Rachael.” We both smile and walk up to Jessie. “Well I have to get back to my dorm, it’s getting pretty late.”5

“Yeah, we need to get home so I can cook this girl some supper.” She smiles and puts her arm around Jessie.6

Looking up with pleading eyes Jessie whispers, “Can she come over for supper Mommy?!” She’s jumping up and down asking loudly now. “Please Mommy?”7

Rachael looks at me smiling, “Only if Micky wants to.” She looks straight into my eyes, and from that look she can tell it’s a yes. “Well I’ll see you around seven then?” I only nod because I can’t even speak. I kneel down to become eye to eye with Jessie.8

“Hey,” I smile at her to make sure she knows I’m a good guy. “Be good to your mom, and I’ll bring you something special.” I look up at Rachael and her eyes are glistening. “Anything you want. Whisper it in my ear so it can be a surprise for your mommy.”9

Whispering, “My mommy to be happy,” my smile fades. I give Jessie a hug and tell Rachael I’ll be there around seven. “We’ll be waiting,” Jessie giggles out. I watch Jessie’s little body run out to the car. 10

“She looks a lot like you, Rachael. She’s an amazing little girl. Plus, she’s really smart for a three year old.” Rachael looks at me and smiles. I walk her out to their car and smile at Jessie in the backseat. “Looks like she knows how to manage a car seat too,” we both laugh as Rachael makes sure the seatbelt is tight enough. “Well, I’ll see you guys soon.” I stand by and watch her drive out of the parking lot. Smiling to myself I get into my car and drive back to the dorm. I can’t wait dinner with the perfect girl ever! 11

Two hours fly by really fast when you have no idea what to wear. I went through over ten outfits, at least, just to see what would look good. Denise and I finally decided on my new tight jeans while wearing my Metallica t-shirt. I run into the bathroom and put on black eyeliner with black mascara. Denise runs in there screaming, “Girl, you have five minutes to get your scrawny little butt out that door and get to her house!” I hurriedly put on green eye shadow and grab my keys.12

“Ding, Dong,” the doorbell goes. I hear footsteps running through the house. I have a feeling that she’s fixing her hair because I can hear Jessie saying, “Gosh, Mommy, your hair looks fine.” Then the door opens and there she is, running her hands through that beautiful brunette hair. “Hello, Micky! We made spaghetti!” She runs off as I come through the door and shut it behind me.13

“Well isn’t she hyper tonight?” We both laugh and walk into the dining room. Her house looks amazing from the inside. Her living room is set up like you just walked into Beverly Hills. Rachael walks over to the stove to stir the sauce, which smells good and is actually homemade. Walking up behind her, I try and sneak a taste. She jumps and turns around while our faces are inches away. 14

“Oh, sorry Micky,” she flashes that smile. “Hey, no sneaks until supper,” she laughs and turns back around to stir everything and turn down the burners. “Jessie Lynn!” she yells for her daughter. I back up and lean against the counter right next to her just gazing at Rachael. “Jessie Lynn, get in here and set the table!” 15

Jessie comes running in with a big smile on her face. I just watch how they set the table, how they react with one another, and how they react with me there. Rachael grabs the plates down, Jessie puts three plates on the table, then she puts napkins on the right, and finally she puts the silverware. “You sure do know how to do a lot of stuff, Jessie. Especially since you’re just three.” I smile at both of them and thank God, they smile back.16

“I’m a fast learner you could say,” she shrugs it off as she motions me down for dinner. I’m seated between Rachael and Jessie. Right before I take a bite of her fabulous dinner, I feel a foot lightly touch mine. My face becomes red and apparently everyone can see. Rachael’s face becomes blushed and Jessie asks, “Mommy, Micky, are you okay? You both look sick.”17

“We’re okay, Jessie.” I take a bite and say, “This is fabulous Rachael,” she’s still sitting there smiling as her foot gently rubs against mine. 18
