Life Ends

Casey ran full speed into the forest, nearly out of breath. She could feel someone following her, but she was too frightened to look back. She had a feeling that who ever it was was not of this race, and that's what scared her the most.1

"Whoever you are, stop following me!" Casey yelled, mostly to the sky. There was no reply, she thought they finally gave up.2

She was the star on the track team, and she could run fast. That is, when she wasn't wearing high heels. She slowed to a jog, so that she could look over her shoulder. She looked over her shoulder from the corner of her eye, but saw nothing. Nothing but the darkness of the forest. She sighed, relieved.3

She looked forward again, and a loud ear piercing scream escaped her throat. A tall cloaked figure stood in front of her, still as a stone. The bottom of the frayed cloak was billowing behind him, although there was no wind tonight. The moonlight shone on the exposed part of his face, which was heavily scarred.4

"Silly, silly girl. Do you know you should never run from a vampire, it's highly dangerous." The man said in a gruff voice.5

He removed the hood from his head, exposing a blinding streak of white hair. He smirked, revealing two razor sharp fangs. Casey hadn't ever believed in stuff like vampires or ghosts. "W-Who are you?" 6

"You have no use for that information, since you are going to die tonight."7

Casey's eyes nearly bulged out of her head, he was serious. The man stood not two inches from Casey, making her scream yet again. He swept her knees, and she was on the ground. His eyes were a bright crimson, red with thirst. Just the smell of her blood was enough to drive him mad, if he wasn't already.8

"This won't hurt...much."9

"Please, let me go. I'll give you anything you want." Casey pleaded.10

"You are going to give me what I want, what I need."11

Casey knew immediately what he meant, there was no doubting that. He bent over her, drawing her scent into his nose. He sighed, pleased with his choice to start the night. He bent closer to her neck, searching for the perfect spot.12

His fangs sunk into her neck, a scream erupting once more from her lips. That would be the last sound she ever made. Slowly as he drank, she grew more and more limp. Her breathing slowed, adn her eyelids drooped. She could no longer fight, she was going to die.13

"W-w-why?" She whispered as he lie her back on the ground.14

"It's the circle of life sweet cheeks. My apologies." He didn't enjoy killing, but it was a way of life for him now. It had been for over three hundred years.15

"Goodbye sweet human, may your after life be peacefull." And then the man was gone. He felt a small twinge of regret for taking the girl's life, but it was necessary.16

Casey's breathing slowed as her heart beat for the last time. Her eyes closed and she drifted off into a never ending sleep...

"Goodbye sweet human, may your after life be peacefull." Peaceful.  Nice read..descriptive and quick. Enjoyed it..though i didn't quite get the dialogue...the last line didn't sound like something someone would say. Very well done on the whole...was fun and entertaining~ Keep writing...i think you could expand this into something great~  Durian~
