A friend once said to me, "You're alone, and you will always be alone... because you are a true artist." And while that statemeant saddened me, it also inspired me.1
I always felt I was different from the majority of the students at my high school. I loved the little things: the leaves falling from the trees in Autumn, dancing in the rain, and filling my journal beside the lake. No one around me ever took a second look at anything like that. The arts were/are my passion.2
I've always expressed my anger and sadness through three things: the bristles on my paintbrush, the lens on my camera, and the black ink of my pen.3
I have so many aspirations as an artist. Someday I hope to publish my poetry, and finish writing my autobiography. I've recorded songs and performed with my band, and I hope we can make it somewhere. I may eventually decide to be a crime scene photographer, but for now, I just want to capture the beauty around me.4
In the past few years, I have been completely interested in the art of photography. I would love to learn the ins and outs of the craft. When I am passionate about something, I do my best to acchieve great things. I may still be alone, but that is when I spread my wings.5
Author notes
I really need help with this... it is an essay for a college application, and I'm really not happy with it. Any advice on format or anything would be greatly appreciated!!
