What is falling in love?

What is falling in love?1

It is light and darkness coalescing into one moment, that one single moment when I realise that out of the vast universe of souls, one would hurtle into my world like a shooting star, carrying with it that one single speck of stardust that would make my soul complete. It is that one moment when everything - who we are, what we are - faded into nothingness, until only two complete souls remain, teetering on hope and dreams and promises.2

What is love then?3

It is a feeling that cannot be described. The simplicity of the touches, the warmth of kisses exchanged, there is no words that can describe what I feel from simply being together with the person I love. Love is after all just a word, one simple word to describe the torrents of feelings rushing through my mind and heart. For centuries, bards have reflected and lamented the inadequacy of this word, it is what made men poets.4

What is sorrow?5

And when love passes on, can the word ‘Sorrow’ describe the most painful moment in my life? The unshed tears, the cold farewell kiss, the lifeless touch, that one word can never illustrate what I feel when I grasp helplessly at the storm that tears us asunder. Sorrow is after all just a word, one emotionless word to describe the rush of emotions emptying from my soul, feelings that nobody will ever understand. When all is gone, sorrow remains. It is what destroyed men.6

So if you do not love, you will have no sorrow?7

Every one of us hopes for that one moment in time which makes life worth living, that one moment where all sorrow fails in comparison. Most spend eternity dreaming of such a moment. I have found mine. If I had not taken the chance, I would have missed the pain, but I would have also missed the dance.

Very nice. I liked the way you described the emotions.

I liked the last paragraph a lot.
