Powers, awakened? Powers what? It wasn't a bad thing, Miles thought, just weird. I don't know what to think of this. 1
"Master Zhong, what do you mean?" Miles was utterly confused. She had told him two different things. "Rukia?"2
"Okay, when I was born it was foretold that I would be a child of nature. What they didn't tell my parents was there were two, a girl and a boy. Of course you aren't their child it just happens we were born a few days apart and you too came from a family that had known of it. When the elders viewed you, by chance, the found that you had the same powers. It had to be awakened by another though," she paused briefly to pick at her dress hem. Then she looked at Master Zhong and he nodded an approval. "Mine were awakened by pure chance and yours were a little difference. I know it'll sound cliche but you had to love another before yours were, apparently. Anyway, it's very unlikely if you don't learn how to use them that they will go dormant again. So that's why I brought you here. I know this doesn't clear much up and all,"3
Miles shook his head and looked down at his shoes, "Wow, that..."4
"Miles, lets go into the temple and we can show you a few more things," Master Zhong interrupted.5
So they walked into the stone temple without a sound, literally.6
"Miles," Rukia whispered, "take look at this," She motioned to an object that resembled a sphere. It was slightly illuminated. 7
"May I?" he asked.8
"Here," she handed him the clear sphere and to his surprise it turned clouded, swirling with mist. 9
"Ah! No matter what you say from now on, those powers are staying with you!" Master Zhong clapped. He was sincere with his laughter though. "Miles, Miles, We've been hoping we'd find the second soon and it seems we have! My goodness, come on we have to inform the monks and th--" he raced out of the room with a speed unimaginable for such an old man and his voice trailed off.10
"He's something," Miles ground his face into his hand, laughing. "I guess it doesn't really change the fact I have powers just because of the stories does it?"11
"He is a character. And I suppose it doesn't," she told him. Her face had a simple worry plastered all over it. "We'd better follow him or he'll ramble and expect us to know what he's been talking about," and the two walked on.12

Almost flying up the steps after Master Zhong they noticed he was already at the top. 'He acts so young...' Miles thought to himself.14
"Make haste!", the old man waved at them and started walking again.15
"Thank goodness we aren't able to be winded anymore..." Rukia sighed and picked up the pace.16

"Finally, come, come!" Master Zhong laughed, "Lets go inside. I fear rain will be falling shortly," He showed them into a small house, more of a shack than a house actually, but when they stepped in delicious smells and the warmth of fire greeted them.
