Kalermiran

Lance rushed forward, leaping into the air and twisting left along the side of the street. A boy lay crying on the ground, his hands bloodied and scarred as Lance landed at his side, "Please do not hurt this child, he is a mere boy!' he yelled out to the men.1

One man got up from the ground, pulling back his right hand and stepping toward Lance, throwing the tightened fist at him. Lance stepped to the left, kicking him with the tip of his right boot, then turning left, bringing the back of his right heel into the man's back. 2

"He is the son of one of those bastards!" another man rushed at Lance, launching at him, throwing a left hand into the side of his face. Lance staggered back, bringing his left hand up, slowly running his finger through the air and then stepping forward, throwing his right knee into the man's stomach, turning left again and throwing the left side of his foot into the side of his head.3

Lance grew a bit dizzy, coming onto his knees as he closed his eyes, "That is not an excuse, there is no reason to hurt a boy or any human because who they were born from," he got back up, "We cannot."4

One of the men grew angry, leaving Lance where he stood and kicked the boy in the ribs, "They killed my family!" he screamed, kicking him again and again.5

Lance stepped forward with his left leg, taking out a wooden blade, bringing it up, gripping the hilt with both of his hands and then smashing it upon the back of the man's head. The man let out a cry before hitting the ground, the boy he lay on top of.6

Lance brought himself onto his left knee, laying beside the boy and the man. He checked the boys pulse, which was erratic, "Another lost to the past," he knew the boy would not live, so he left them be.7

The rain was pouring harder now, it was late at night and soon it would be morning and he would not like to be caught. Each step grew heavier, as he walked down the emptied streets and out of the city.8

Finally getting out of the city, he sheathed his wooden blade at the bottom of his back, laying it down on a wooden belt with two latches at each side. The severed curl of the blade allowed him to rest it there, and did not limit his movement as he walked.9

Out in the distance a small curve in the road, he walked straight forward from the road to the thick woods. To his back the sun rose, warming the air around him. The trees were large, uncut for centuries and thick from the nice climate that the land settled.10

Lance stepped onto a hard piece of ground which made a loud 'thump' as he walked across it. He bent over and slid the fingers of his right hand through a hatch and pulled it up after looking around. He pulled the latch up and hopped inside.11

The opening closed as he landed on the ground. He took out a small lantern from his side and set it on a table in front of him, but it looked like he had set it in thin air, then lit it.12

The room filled with the light, two doors, a little kitchen, and a large living room that had six wooden pillars that seemed like it held the roof above from collapsing. The walls were painted over with boards and strong rock to keep back the dirt from getting into the room. 13

Taking his hand and lifting it above his hand, he lazily hit the latch to keep any outsiders from getting inside. A small little girl opened one of the doors and peeked out, "Hello Daddy!" as she said, running from the opened door and running to Lance and hugging him.14

Lance smiled, patting the girls head and hugging her back, "Hello daughter, how are you?" he said down to her, his eyes closed and his body half resting on his left foot.15

"I am good daddy, what did you bring me back?" she said, her pale hands coming together. 16

He shook his head from side to side, "There wasn't much today, but I found some nice plates," he pulled out the plates as he spoke, they were very fine marble, which he laid on the table.17
