As the Darkness Rises

I woke to the sound of rain. Not unusual for Northern Washington. My heart was trying to pound out of my chest, then I remembered my dream.
I was in a forest, sitting with my back against tree. I heard a voice. "Rebecca," It was saying from somewhere in the forest. I got up and looked around to see who it was and turned to see a boy about eighteen with black hair to his chin, and eyes emerald green.
"Come on," He beckoned and smiled a gleaming white smile as charming as an actors. I took a couple of steps towards him and then saw how long his wolf teeth were.
In a panic I tried to rush backwards but tripped on a fallen branch, then he was there to catch me. He leaned down as if to kiss me but smiled and went to break my neck. Then I woke up.
"Rebecca," My mothers voice sounded from downstairs, " If you don't get up you'll be late for school!"
"Ugh," I flopped backwards and hit my head on the pillow. My mother and I just moved here from Florida after her and my father got a divorce. We moved from sunny coastal Florida to Shelton Washington with our two dogs Minnie and Tipsy.
My parents got divorced in July, now it was September 1st so it was time for school to start, I was just oh so excited. I got up, walked to my closet picked out my plain black corset and black denim Skinny jeans with the punk chains and my black vans. Ran to the bathroom brushed my hair and teeth and ran downstairs.
"I love you mom!" I said as I grabbed my bag and car-keys, "I'll see you after school!"
"Kay honey, have a good day." 1

When I got to school I had ten minutes until the bell rang to get everything together for my classes. I flipped my waist length black hair over my shoulder and grabbed my bag. I locked my car and started to the sidewalk. I looked around and saw a couple of boys wearing letterman jackets, whispering, while looking at me and smiling. I shuddered, so it was going to be like this.
I walked up the steps to the school, through the doors, and into the little office off to the side to sign in.
"Umm, hello?" I asked at the front desk.
"Hi, how can I help you?" Asked a older lady as she came around the corner.
"I'm Rebecca O'Connell, I need to sign in. I'm new here," I said feeling a little nauseated.2

"Oh, okay here are the papers and schedule you'll need." She said handing me several sheets of paper and one colorful one on top. I picked it up to look at my classes.
The bell rang. "Okay thanks," I said smiling at her.
I turned to find my homeroom and ran smack into someone.
"Ow, Oh sor-," I started to say but lost my train of thought when I looked at who I had run into.
The boy I had run into had black hair like midnight, and eyes like emeralds. The boy from my dream. The look in his eyes was pure detest and resentment. I have no idea why. He spun around and walked the other way.
My eyes filled with tears as I gathered my papers and notebooks up. I walked into my first class as the bell rang.
The teacher looked at me and raised and eyebrow in question. "And who are you?" She asked in an annoyed tone. I blushed several shades of scarlet.
"Rebecca O'Connell," I mumbled, "I moved here from Florida."
"Oh, okay," She said in a softer tone "You can sit back there by Dakota." She pointed to a boy with auburn hair, he looked friendly enough.
I walked back there with as much grace as I had.
"Hi," I said as I sat down.
"Hey, I'm Dakota Smith, nice to meet you." He said shaking my hand.
