Fashion Goddess

Jason sat down on a bench and began gently chewing his hotdog. He looked around at all of the couples and couldn't help, but wish he had someone to love. He lifted his head to the sound of clicking to see a beautiful girl passing by. Her hair was long and chocolate brown matching her glittering eyes. She was wearing a Donna Karan Collection Cold Shoulder Molded Dress with a fancy pair of the new Stuart Weitzman Patent Crisscross Pumps also in bright red. Jason knew all about designer clothing becasue that's what his mother did for a living. Jason's jaw dropped as the beautiful girl walked past him. He had made up his mind, he needed a girlfriend and he wanted her.1

"Hey wait up!" Jason yelled tossing his hotdog into a waste bin
and chasing after the tall and slim brunette.2

The girl turned around. "Excuse me? Do I know you?" she said snobily. 3

Jason ignored the bitterness in her voice and kept on smiling.4

"No, but I thought we might change that. Do you want to go for...icecream or a latte or something?" 5

The girl paused to think and a tear dripped down her face. 6

"Why would I want to go anywhere with a nerd like you?" she spat. 7

Jason began to frown.8

"Why are you being such a stuck-up bitch?"9

The girl seemed to freeze before laughing with amusement.10

"Well aren't you a tiger? I'm sorry, but I just...it's nothing."11

Jason placed his hand on her shoulder daringly, half expecting her to claw it off.12

"It's not nothing. Why don't you tell me about it over icecream? My treat." 13

The girl's eyes brightened.14

"You don't give up do you?"15

Jason shook his head. "I'd never give up on someone who needs help."16

The girl closed her eyes for a moment before nodding. 17

"I'll come with you" she replied quietly.18

Jason's eyes began to water.19

"That's great! Hold on...what's you name?"20

The girl looked amused with Jason's enthusiasm.21

"I'm Shannon."22

"And I'm Jason," Jason replied holding out his hand.23

Shannon shook his hand before slipping her arm though his.24

"Lead the way tiger" she purred.25

Jason led the way across town to a beautiful green meadow.26

"Perfect" Jason muttered under his breath, but Shannon seemed to catch it.27

"Yes, it is, isn't it?"28

The happy looking couple walked over to a booth and Jason ordered tigertail icercream for both of them. Shannon had told Jason that it was her favourite, who would have guessed, Jason thought, rolling his eyes.29

Jason handed the cashier the money beore handing Shannon her cone.30

"Well. Are you going to tell me why you were in such a bad mood earlier?" 31

Shannon looked nervous, but nodded anyways.32

"Here, let's go and relax under that willow tree over there." Jason offered.33

Shannon took Jason's hand as he led her towards the tree. The meadow seemed to be glowing in the sunlight. Kids were playing frisby with their friends, dogs were chasing after squirrels, and the beauitful pond was glistening like a crystal glass. 34

"So...you ready?" Jason asked hopefully before taking a bite out of his icecream.35

"Yeah...it's just hard to explain. It's a really long story.."36

Jason shrugged. "Do I look busy to you? Start at the beginning."37

Shannon slowly blinked her long dark eyelashes before beginning.38

"It all started when I was offered a modeling position. At first I thought it would be great, but then...the manager got mean. He told me I was out of shape and needed to lose about fourty pounds. He also suggested that I should go anf get some plastic surgery, but I refused. That's when...he locked me into a weight room and told me to start burning calories. He told me he wouldn't let me out until I had lost the fourty pounds."39

Jason stared at Shannon in disbelief. "You serious?! That's rediculous."40

Shannon continued, "Anyways, by the time I had lost around fifteen pounds, he unlocked the door and told me that he had a plastic surgeon ready to re-design my face. I refused to go, so the manager went out and found my boyfriend. He must have payed him a lot of money, because Marc would never have turned on me. When the manager let Marc into the room to see me, I was thrilled. Of course, my happiness soon melted away...like my icercream." She added looking down at her cone which was dripping over her hand.41

Jason pulled a tissue out of his pocket and began to wipe it off. 42

"There, all better." he whispered.43

Shannon dipped her head gratefully before continuing, "You see...Marc told me that I needed to go for the surgery. He said no one would take me as a model with a face like this. I thought he was joking, but his face was so serious. Then he grabbed me and forced me on the treadmill and told me to lose more weight. I still refused the surgery and escaped out of a window. The police are looking for the manager, but they can't seem to find him."44

Shannon burst into tears and Jason wrapped his arm around her comfortingly.45

"Don't worry...you're safe with me. So what hapened to Marc?"46

Shannon wiped the tears from her beautiful brown eyes and looked up at Jason. 47

"I broke up with him right before I ran into you. He tried to tell me that he was just kidding back at the gym but I knew better. So when I ran into you, I was kind of...cranky."48

Jason nodded understandingly. "Well...I forgive you."49

Shannon kissed him gently on the cheek before standing up.50

"It's been fun, but I really have to get going now."51

Jason got to his feet and watched as she walked away into the sunlight, her brown hair streaming out behind her.52

"See you around tiger" she purred once again.53

Jason noded briefly.54

"Yeah. See you around..." 55

And so he did. Everyday for the rest of his life.
