The thin crescent moon started to rise above the grey soft clouds of midnight. The northern winds blew hard against two figures standing near the edge of a tall building. The two strangers held hands together and peered out into the open. City lights bickered with the true stars of the sky but alas it was the lights that managed to paint the dark skies. Angry cars and trucks fought aggressively for what little space was available to them. Thick smoke rose from them and drowned the air in its horrid stench. The two figures turned to each other and hugged. “I love you” whispered one of them into the other’s ears. The moon cast its shadow into them and revealed a man and a young girl. The man stood tall and graceful while the girl looked rather skimpy and pale. She giggled as soon as she felt his breath on her ear. 1
“This is the first and last time we will ever be together again my deary” he said sadly to his young lover. “I know” she replied. He took her hand softly and pulled. She followed him and jumped. It almost seemed as if the earth had quieted down to hear their last thoughts of life. The winds caressed both of their bodies and guided them to their fate. “I love you” the girl said quietly. He pressed her small body against his and began to sing in a low voice. “Cause I want it now, I want it now, give me your heart and your soul. I'm not breaking down, I'm breaking out, last chance to lose control and I want you now, I want you now. I feel my heart implode and I'm breaking out, escaping now, feeling my faith erode” 2
A sudden crash silenced the couple. Blood splattered violently against nearby cars and brick walls. An eerie breeze filled the empty streets of New York as the couple layed sprawled on the sidewalk. A small tiny furry appeared beside the fallen couple. It was a dirty golden retriever. The dog was apparently soaked in muddy water when they landed on the sidewalk. He was lost, all alone in a big city. The moon was just hovering over the building and over a nearby park. A bright white light suddenly appeared over the two lovers. Black wings sprouted from the light and then a blood soaked sword made its way barely visible. A body soon appeared clothed in a blood drenched white robe with a hood covering the face. The strangling looked at the couple and sighed “I am sorry for I have failed you both as a guardian” A small tear fell on the figure’s pale cheeks. 3
Suddenly the strangling choked out blood. A large sword was being pushed into its chest. “Yes you failed them both angel” said a cold dark voice form behind. The golden retriever scampered off in fear and began barking wildly. The angel fell onto the hard unforgiving ground as a shadow with red eyes loomed over him. “Why I though I killed you” said the wounded angel. The shadow chuckled softly and hissed “you fool; you can never kill a demon! And now, it is time to finish something you couldn’t” The angel pleaded to the shadow but it was of no use for it was already drawing another sword closer to his neck. The angel’s eyes grew wide in horror as it realized that it was no ordinary sword. “No it can’t be! The blade of seven faiths” he breathed hopelessly. 4
The shadow laughed horribly and sank the sword into the angel’s neck. There was a large crunch as the sword pierced through the angel’s skin. He screamed in pain as blood started to ooze out of the fresh wound. The angel managed to glance at the sky and whispered “wow it has never looked so glorious. I am sorry, I have failed you my Lord” The shadow struck the angel in the head with the sword and started to emit a maniacal laugh. “Ah yes with this bitch I can even kill the Lord himself!” he boasted out loud. “Dear father of hell, with this blood that I offer to your deadliness, I open you the doors of Earth! Come now and rise!” 5
A large black sinkhole appeared below the pile of dead bodies and another shadow stepped out. The bodies fell into the hole; their last sight of Earth and their first into hell. The shadow exploded into a magnificent fire ball and revealed a disillusioned figure. The thing had no skin, exposing its bare fleshy meat to the outside bitter cold air. Two horns reached up to the sky from its head. The thing was also half way covered in grey fur. Blood dripped down from its long misshapen teeth. It leaned over as if it was crippled and approached the other shadow. “Nice work Keziia” the thing said in a deep groaning voice. “My father, please accept this angel’s blood as a gift and a pleasure” Keziia said pleasantly. The thing looked at him for a while and said “please my son, call me by my bloodname” 6
Keziia looked up from where he was kneeling and thought back to his memories. It had been a long time since his father’s name has been spoken and now he troubled himself by remembering. “Alessandro?” he asked to the thing in hopes that he had gotten it right. The thing chuckled softly and patted him on the head. He leaned down close to him and gave him a long hard kiss on the mouth. Keziia shrunk back in surprise. A tingle of excitement ran down his spine as he felt the echoes of the passionate kiss. He smiled at Alessandro and stood up. Alessandro lifted his arm and waved it over Keziia’s head and a bright light appeared. The light revealed Keziia’s true form. He had the appearance of any ordinary human except that his body was longer and seemed to lean over precariously. His eyes were crescent shaped and red. Keziia’s hair was a greasy black and it hung just over his large sad eyes. 7
Alessandro loomed over the black hole and saw the couple holding hands “how sad, they were destined for a greater future” he said laughing hysterically. “Well lets not let them go to waste my dear Keziia” Keziia rolled his eyes and knew what his father knew when he said that. “We’re taking their place?” he asked in hopes that he was wrong. Alessandro smiled and nodded. Keziia sighed and remembered the pain he felt when he binded with a human’s body. The terrors he fought as the human’s guardian angel tried to ward him off with spells and hexes and on top of that he had to fight off the human’s spiritual energy from corrupting his own life-force. “Don’t fuss Keziia, it won’t hurt this time. Now that you killed both of their guardians, their bodies are free for the taking” 8
Keziia looked at him in shock and wondered if he had read his worried mind. “Yes I have” said Alessandro surprising him even more. Keziia shivered at the thought of having the prince of darkness reading his most intimate thoughts but he quickly dismissed the thoughts for fear that Alessandro was reading them right now. “Come now, I’m not that shallow. Hmm…the moon is setting, we have to merge with the bodies before it’s too late” groaned Alessandro to Keziia. “Alright” Keziia managed to say over his angry stare at Alessandro for reading his thoughts. 9
They jumped into the hole and stood on top of the dead bodies. Alessandro took the body of the man and Keziia took the girl’s. “Aww do I really have to play girl this time?” Keziia asked annoyed. Alessandro smiled in pleasure at having his own demonic son take the shape of a woman but he quickly brushed off the thought and nodded. Keziia sighed in disappointment and terror. The thought of living in a woman’s body simply terrified him. Alessandro’s body soon turned into a shadow again and then into a black cloud. The cloud hovered above the closed man’s eyes. Suddenly the man’s body shock violently and his eyes sprung open. He sat up and touched himself for the first time. He looked over at Keziia and said “Come on now, it’s your turn” Keziia followed Alessandro’s lead and soon his body turned into a cloud too. The cloud entered the girl’s eyes and they opened so softly as if to see life for the first time. 10
“Ah crap! It hurts” Keziia moaned to his father. Alessandro stood up and he too began to feel the body’s pain. “These bastards should’ve chosen a rather painless death than this bitch. Humans are so stupid!” Alessandro said annoyed. “Heck it beats getting shot in the head with a gun” Keziia said jokingly. Both of them climbed out of the hole and stared at the rising sun. “Ah yes, just in time” said a satisfied Alessandro. 11
