Temple of Sphere: Chapter 14

Jason and his team walked out of the forest. The moonlight guided their path as the cliffs were just ahead. His stomach growled for food and cramps raced through his legs. He heard the team’s footsteps behind him in the clear night sky. He stopped to gaze at the stars as his thoughts turned to Star.1

Growling and hissing came down from the trees. Long sharp nails dug into their uniforms as his men screamed. The men fired. The bright blue rays flew as the attackers jumped back. Their yellow eyes glowed in the darkness. They fought on their furry hind legs with human torsos. 2

Jason kicked one of the creatures in its chest. A hand-like claw tried to grab his weapon. The fangs grew in length as the short, thick snout came closer to his neck. Jason used his elbow and slammed it in its head. The creature yelped in pain!3

“Shoot into their heads!” He ordered.4

More creatures jumped from the trees and from the cliffs. Jason and his team aimed for their heads as shots fired. Sweat rolled down his face as row after row of an attackers fell onto the cold ground. 5

The next swarm of them dashed down the cliff towards them.6

“Keep firing at their heads!” Jason yelled.7

The blue rays continued to fire from their guns. The beams bounced off the creatures. They march to their position.8

“Get those shields up!” Jason ordered.9

“Commander, we need to retreat!” Patch yelled. 10

“Where are we going to go?” Jason asked as he continued to fire his weapon.11

The swarm stopped in just feet of them. Each of the attackers raised their arms in the air. A yellow beam came from their claws. It collided with the team as they dropped their weapons.12

A lone creature walked towards the swarm. Its golden furry hind legs took small and elegant steps. The torso was human, but it wore a skintight shirt that revealed her huge breasts. Her fair skin sparkled on her arms and her face shined in the moonlight. Her fingers had long manicured nails. The wind blew her white long hair and it had a touch of shimmer. Her light blue eyes had a glow and her ears were pointed, which gave her appearance as an angel.13

She walked closer to them as the team sat on their knees. The creatures stepped aside. They began to surround the team, as their eyes grew brighter.14

Jason and his team tried to break free of the beam.15

The creature stood in front of them. The others gave a low growl to her as she raised her arms. She brought her hand near her mouth and blew out her breath towards them. The men started to cough, as they smelled her breath.16

Jason fell to the ground and tried not to breathe the air around him. The creature came towards him. She began to sing to them. Images flashed into his mind of a beautiful woman who danced in front of him in a soft white gown.17

He watched her hips moved back and forth, as her long hair flowed with her movements. She used her hands to motion to him to come to her.18

Her luscious berry lips opened. “Come to me. I’ll give you what you desire the most!”19

Jason rose onto his feet.20

Star entered her quarters, as the room was dark. The stars danced outside her windows as the planet floated below the ship. Her thoughts began to think about Jason. She walked towards the sofa and sat down to stare at the planet.22

Her thoughts drifted away from her duties. I don’t have time for this. Jason can take care of himself. She rose from the sofa.23

“Lights on,” she said. 24

In few a seconds the lights were on. Star turned to her left and went to Moonbeam and their brother’s sleeping compartment. She entered their room, went to the drawers, and pulled them out. Next, she grabbed the clean blanket and sheets for Moonbeam’s bed.25

Good. The robots had clean and dusted everything in the room.26

Star placed the blanket and the sheets on the silver nightstand. She walked over to the closet to grab the two pillows. She set them beside the bed as she reached over to the fitted sheet. Then she placed it on the first corner of the mattress and moved to the next corner until she was done. Star took her hand to smooth out the wrinkles.27

“Computer, I’m allowing Grace to access the babysitter’s files for Moonbeam. Grace is going to be taking care of Moonbeam while I’m working,” Star said as she unfolded the sheet and placed it on the bed.28

“I understand the request,” the computer replied.29

Star grabbed the pillowcases, picked up the first pillow, and put it in the case. She did the same thing for the second pillow. She reached over and grabbed the blanket; laid it over the Moonbeam’s bed.30

Three tiny glowing blue spheres flew in the air towards her. Star turned around and all most knock into them. She put her hand over her chest to catch her breath.31

“Don’t do that to me!” She snapped.32

They changed colors to orange, and moved around in a circle. Images began to appear inside of the circle. Her eyes widen. She lifted up her arm.33

“Arms of light come to me!” 34

On the other side of the room, was her bedroom that lay a steel rod on a shelf. It began to flash a dark blue as it rose in the air. The rod flew across the room straight into her hand. A white light ran through her arm as a metallic steel arm brace and headband around her head that came up through her skin as it twinkled.35

The three tiny spheres shot out an orange beam at her. Star and the three spheres vanished.36
