Story of an Exile ~ Chapter 8

Vabira entered the Shadowglen, silent. The loudest sound to be heard was the pounding of her own heart. Nervousness overtook her, yet she pressed on. A kind-looking elf stood at Welcoming. He was speaking to what appeared to be a young priestess.1

"Apparently this is whare all night elves begin their training," Vabira mumbled to herself as her grip on her short bow tightened. When the priestess nodded to the elf and ran off, Vabira took a deep break and approached him. He smiled at her.2

"Hello, little huntress. You are new here, correct? I haven't seen your face before," the elf noted and bowed slightly. "I am to give the young ones their first quest. Shall we begin?" When Vabira nodded, the elf continued, giving her the details of the quest.3

Vabira did as she was bid. She worked hard and swift, killing what she was told and gathering what was requested. Soon she was stronger, wiser, and known by the few elves who dwelt the Shadowglen. The hunting trainer was eager to answer any questions and teach Vabira what she needed to know. It did not take long for the shadow elf in disguies to conquer the glen and the druid who oversaw and protected this particular area sent her to the next town, Dolanaar.4

Dolanaar also held many things that needed to be done, and Vabira's enthusiasm held strong, though only for a time. She soon became bored with the night elves' tasks and forest. She needed a change. Thus, once she had learned to tame a pet and battle companion, she traveled to Darnassus, the night elves' capital, to find her new path.5

Darnassus was where she met the dwarf, Gorgen.
