Gentle Rains Ch. 12

"Hanging in dere Stormy?" Remy asked looking at his wife as he helped her into Rouge's jeep. He felt a few rain drops hit his face a while later and looked at his wife seeing the pained expression on her face. 1

"How is she?" Rouge asked getting in the front seat and starting her jeep as Remy got in the back sitting with his wife.2

"Remy, I don't feel to good." Ororo said softly leaning against Remy. 3

A deep groan would then escape the windrider's lips as she rubbed her stomach closing her eyes feeling another sharp pain in her stomach. She tried her best to ignore it, thinking it was just a few cramps from being so stressed as of late. Of course she knew in the back of her mind that could be going into the early stages of her labor. She hoped not. She wanted to carry her child until her due date in another three weeks. But at this point she had long since decided it was up to her son to decide when he wanted to come into the world. Why now of all places? She wondered making a noise that sounded like a moan and a whimper at once. 4

"I know Stormy, stay with me alright, we're gonna get you home soon." He said rubbing her stomach gently to help her feel a bit more comfortable.5

He frowned some not liking to see his wife in pain and wished there was something he could do about it. He felt, powerless as well as helpless knowing he couldn't take the pain away. So he did what he knew and tried to keep her as calm and comfortable as possible feeling the rain come down a bit harder now. That was one thing they didn't need right now. One because Rouge's jeep didn't have a top on it, and two though he couldn't blame the second reason on his wife because she was laboring, but he didn't want her to become sick and have it have a bad effect on the baby. He frowned some at her whimper and pushed a few loose strands of her hair back and spoke soft encouraging words to her. 6

"Nnn....Goddess it hurts." Ororo moaned again. 7

Rouge frowned some as she kept driving knowing she shouldn't have brought Ororo all the way out here just to see Remy. Now her best friend was in labor in the back of her jeep. Not that she minded, she was just upset with herself for giving into Ororo so easily. Damn that woman and her begging sometimes. Rouge would really have to learn to say no after Ororo gave birth. She frowned some feeling the rain come down harder as she continued speeding down the road. The mansion was at least another half an hour away and with Ororo in the condition she was, she hoped she would be able to make it in time. 8

"Don't worry Sugah, I'll get us home." She said driving onto the main highway intending to take a shortcut.9

Ororo nodded some as she breathed through the pain soon feeling it subside a bit.10

Half an hour would soon pass, then an hour, then two as the three sat in traffic, an accident to far up ahead for them to see what had happened. Rouge frowned some hearing Ororo cry out in pain and frowned some. 11

"I know Ro...I know." She said shaking her head free of the rain coming down on her.12

"She not looking to good Cher,we gotta find somewhere for her to have dis baby." He said continuing to rub his wife's stomach he other hand being held By Ororo's own hand his duster around her to keep her dry. 13

Indeed Ororo wasn't looking to good, she was starting to drift off to sleep, being nearly exhausted from the constant pain of the contractions. She tried her best to stay awake for Remy, but despite his words sleep was starting to take over her body, and the last thing she wanted to do was fall asleep in the rain. Ororo soon felt a small pop and moaned feeling a warm sensation in her lower sex area. Her water had just broke, another thing that she hoped would come later, but she had long since learned that two hours ago, she couldn't control what her body wanted to do. Right now her body was telling her, it was time for baby to come out. 14

"Nnn." She moaned feeling another contraction come. "Remy...I think my water just broke." She said biting back a scream with little success as her cries echoed with the crash of thunder tearing across the skies as her head craned back a bit and turned to the side. 15

"Hnnn....damnit....come on." Rouge said frowning looking for an opening. There was a safe house nearby, one of the ones that they used in case of an emergency. And this counted as pretty much a code red emergency.16

Soon seeing an opening she drove down the road taking an exit into the downtown area and pulled into a driveway. 17

"Come on let's get Ororo inside." Rouge said hearing Ororo scream again clenching Remy's hand as she went to the door and opened it helping Ororo down.18

"Easy Sugah, just breathe through it ok?" She asked as Ororo nodded having to push herself to walk into the house, feeling to weak to do anything. 19

"Dink you can make it ta da bed Stormy?" Remy asked. 20

Ororo shook her head moaning taking deep slow breaths and letting them out again. "No...it hurts to much." Ororo moaned as Remy and Rouge helped her lay on the couch and Remy got her a blanket and Rouge helped dry her off a bit.21

Three hours later Ororo panted some as she whimpered in pain again. "Rouge I have to push." She groaned as Remy placed a small cloth on her forehead.22

Rouge nodded some and went and got a few towels and some well sterilized scissors as she sat as the front of the couch. She wasn't to sure what she was doing but had a basic idea of it, coach Ororo and help bring her son into the world. So that was what she did, and after three more long grueling hours smiled as she handed a crying, rather loud crying baby boy to his mother as Ororo cried a bit holding him gently, just barely having enough strength to hold him. 23

"Hey there baby boy..." Ororo said softly stroking her son's cheek with her finger hearing little whimpers from her son as she smiled.24

"You did it Cherie, he's beautiful." Remy said kissing her. 25

"What's his name?" Rouge asked seeing the two parents beside one another as the little boy whined from the bumpy ride he went through soon settling into his mother's warm inviting embrace.26

"Rem." Ororo said softly feeling sleep begin to take over her. 27

"Rem? What kinda name is that?" Rouge asked.28

"We don't need another Remy in the mansion, and I didn't like Remy Jr. So...I named him...Rem..." She said through a large yawn. 29

"Here....you just rest, let me take 'im." Remy said gently taking his son into his arms and cradling him as he watched his wife fall asleep
