I slowly come into reality as I slowly come out of a deep sleep....Im in my bed, with my wife by my side probably dreaming about that cruise ship next week.1
I have my eyes closed as I smell the familiar aroma of my room...the annoying alarm clock is beeping away BEEP BEEP BEEP I reach over and miss the snooze button as I slam my hand on the clock, yet with my fingers, I switch the alarm clock off.2
Its undeniable...Its fustrating...its Monday morning.3
I stare at the ceiling and I grown in fustration, hoping that today is really Saterday....but my sleepiness is dissolving and reality is coming forth.4
I lay in bed and take a big stretch trying to break through this fog that has patterned itself in my sleep.5
I close my eyes trying to think of a song or even a poem...as the song is circling my mind, I close my eyes in a smile and try to hold this song in my head that might put me back to sleep, cause I know for a fact, that when I open my eyes again-the song will be gone, and I will have to get ready for the day.6
Yet the songs stays in my head just for a few made up verses, the song disintegrates from my mind and into my clouds of sleep for tonights dreams.7
As I sit up in bed, I remember how last night was when my band and my girl both slipped through my fingers....created and then dissapeard just as fast as this song I had in my head...it quickly came and then quickly left...8
As I put on my house slippers and then I put my morning robe on...I have to face that today is just another day.....9

This is well written and a little funny. Not laughing at you, I promise!
I had a couple itches with this story:
Maybe this is just my opinion but I thought that when you italicized the wrong things and when you underlined 'my band' I though you could italicize that section.
Also, I think that you should add a little more detail to the morning, to how tired he is, to everything. Maybe even describe his wife or why it looked like she was dreaming of the cruise.
This story flowed well and I enjoyed reading it! Keep writing!

For starters, that picture is not me...i found it on the web...though it took me hours and I flipped through pictures and pictures to find this one, I had a few that I looked at and I kept at the back of my mind, yet this one spoke the loudest, so I snagged it !
It is a fact that everyone feels like a troll when they wake up in the mornings...and I am atrue grump if i take an afternoon nap...I wonder what I look like then ? (please don't answer that)

Lol the way you fight to stay asleep is close to what I do. Although I dont work quite yet, I do have school and I always fight the feeling to wake up.When your having a nightmare, you fall asleep almost immediatly and when your having a good dream, you wake up quick. I try to grasp ahold of a bad memory...anything to put me to sleep. 4/5 -
i hate that feeling on monday morning when i wake up and realize i have another day ahead of me, work to do, people that i must deal with, but somehow i make it out of bed.

When I got my lyrics of a prompt, I scrolled online and found the artist singing the verse I was given, unplugged !
I must have hit repeat to hear that song sing again and again at least 30 times, not only cause I liked it, yet I was trying to get the verse that he was singing, and actually try to connect it to something everyone can relate with(something must have happened , because the feedback of others was just amazing) and very quickly, this story shined in my heart to share. !
What a great contest whatever the outcome may be !

I love this and I know exactly how you feel. Some days I'm like no I can't get up, but I make myself. Usually though thats after I have been up too long without sleep like today
I had been up 2 days then ended up sleeping for near 12 hours because I couldn't make myself get up where I had gotten so run down. Love the way you write it's so vivid!
