Mr. Worths grew up in the East in New London (our New York) in the state of New York. He was born into a poor family and started work around the age of eight. He was fourth of six children: four sisters and one brother. Mr. Worths began working in factories when he was eight, but by the time he was fourteen, he was deeply wrapped up in organized crime. He became an expert con artist. But before he turned twenty, the local authorities came very close to catching him after imprisoning many of his colleagues, and Mr. Worths fled West. 6

For about the past twenty-five years, Mr. Worths has made his living conning young and old up and down the Western frontier. His most recent was an old woman in west Texas whose nephew he pretended to be.
