I open my eyes abruptly. But my eyes do not take in the panoramic view that lies before me. My thoughts are sucked into the void.1
And then the phone rings.2
The events of yesterday suddenly rush back to me. My head throbs. “What have I done?” I speak aloud to an empty room.3
My cell phone still rings in my hand. But I don’t hear it, my thoughts are too deafening.4
One missed call. One voicemail. “Hey, it’s Taylor. I, uh, just thought I’d call and see how you’re feeling. You were so drunk yesterday… Call me back.” Click.5
“Oh, no,” my thoughts are swarming with cuss words. “She remembers!”6
I play the images back in my mind.7
…8
I got down on bended knee and stared up into her beautiful blue eyes. Her blonde hair sparkled in the candle light. She looked like an angel, dressed in white. Grasping her hand in mine, I said, “Taylor, marry me; promise you’ll stay with me.”9
Taylor only stared at me, shocked. When she found her voice, I was already on my feet, sliding a diamond ring on her finger. “I need time to think,” she said.10
And she walked away.11
…12
Tears stream down from my green eyes. “She called to give me an answer…” I pick up my phone again and dial her number. “Taylor, it’s me.”13
“Julez?” she calls me by my nickname, so I know that she isn’t angry with me. “Do you know what you did yesterday?”14
I gave a shameful “yes” between pursed lips. It isn’t because I don’t love her; God knows I love her. I would die for her, but I am shameful because we are both female and I am afraid that she will think of me differently knowing that I am a lesbian.15
“Do you want your ring back, or were you serious when you proposed to me?”16
I bite my lip. How am I supposed to answer to that? I don’t want to tell her because what if she isn’t? But then if I don’t tell her, what if she is? Oh, God, I am so confused,17
“Julia? Are you there?” Tay asks.18
She is my best friend. What do I tell her? “Yes, I am here.”19
“Well?”20
“Well… I… Don’t really know how to answer that…”21
“Julia,” she seems frustrated. “Do you love me?”22
“Of course I love you, Tay, you’re my best friend.”23
There is a pause quickly replaced by a sigh. “Okay, let’s try this one then. Are you a lesbian?”24
“…Yes?” I am uncertain if that is the answer I should have said. I cringe, waiting for a response.25
“And you’re in love with me.” Taylor doesn’t seem too creeped out. I wonder, could she…?26
“Mhmm,” I relax a little, knowing that she won’t hate me for loving her.27
There was another pause, but when she spoke, the words traveled abruptly to my ears. “Meet me at the park in five minutes.” And Taylor hangs up the phone.28
I am left in awe, my jaw dropped, my eyes staring at the wall. What could she possibly mean?29
In the duration of five minutes, my mind runs wild. Thoughts race fervently though my head, trying to take in all the things she said to me and the meaning of it all.30
I arrive at the park and come face to face with the love of my life: Taylor Renee. She looks as beautiful as I had seen her last night, if not more so. Oh my God, she is gorgeous.31
The next thing I know, she brings her face close to mine. Eyes closed, lips locked. I’m in heaven. Maybe this is all a dream…32
But I open my eyes again only to see Taylor staring back at me. She takes my hand. “Julia,” my name sounds so beautiful on her lips. “I will marry you.”

Author notes
Well, I think judging by my story, you know that I am female and that my name is Julia. So I'm sure that you know who I am, honey. Because of course, you know that when I say Julia, I mean Julia Alexandrovna. Hehe. Taylor, I love you. Please don't make this only a fairytale.
Hottest woman celebrity? Angelina Jolie maybe. Or Rose McGowen.
