The Hitchhiker (chapter 6)

The nervousness started going away.1

I knew I still had to be2

very cautious around him.3

We were on our way.4

The rain had started up again,5

but it wasn't a heavy rain.6

Cynthia: "So, what are you doing7

out here in the middle of 8

nowhere in a storm?"9

Tony: "I was at a friend's house."10

Cynthia: "So, what happened?"11

Tony: "We got into a big fight12

and I left."13

Cynthia: "I see you are upset.14

I won't ask you anymore15

questions."16

Tony: "No, that's okay, I don't mind."17

Cynthia: "Are you sure?"18

Tony: "Yeah, I'm sure."19

Cynthia: "So, why did you20

get into a fight?"21

Tony: "He broke up my22

relationship with a girl."23

Cynthia: "I'm sorry to hear about that."24

Tony: "Nah, it's okay.25

I knew it wouldn't26

last anyway."27

Cynthia: "I'll change the subject."28

Tony: "What about you?29

Why are you out in the30

middle of nowhere?"31

Cynthia: "I'm just getting back32

from a party."33

The rain was coming down harder34

and the highway was35

getting hard to see.36

Tony: "Where are you headed?"37

Cynthia: "Back to Massachusettes."38

Tony: "Funny, I'm headed there too."39

Cynthia: "Have you lived there long?"40

Tony: "Only for a year or so."41

Starting at Chapter 6 makes me want to go back and read 1-5 to see what is actually going on. I see you are writing this more as play rather than actually story. Maybe a future as a playwrite for you someday. I did not find this boring at all, but I must read 1-5 to find out what's going on.
