The morning sun began to blanket the face of a young woman. Her mystical figure was dressed in a soft gown as she lay sleeping. Her blue eyes were hidden behind her shut eyelids and as her dark brown hair caught the light it reflected many colours.1
Opening her eyes, she quickly surveyed her surroundings. Finding that she was somewhere safe, she sighed with relief. With her sigh she felt a body behind her. Glancing down she saw his arms around her waist.2
She was a warrior, fighting against many evils. Her eyes were constantly looking for exits. She lived a life that not many people could handle. She defended her city and bloodline with her life.3
She smiled softly, rolling around to face the man she loved. His soft hair falling over his forehead leading her eyes down to his closed eyelids. She studied his soft lips and recalled how they felt against hers.4
The two laid together surrounded by a few soft blankets to protect from the dew of the forest. They had only been traveling together for a day, both heading in the same direction. Their lifestyles kept them apart often.5
She sighed as memories flooded through her minds eye. Her gently sigh stirred her love, and she feared not that he would wake. She touched his face, the way she always woke him up, and his eyes gently fluttered open.6
"Morning." She said. His face turned up into a smile and his eyes focused on her. His hand came up and brushed her hair out of her face, only to reveal a bruise by her eyebrow. She winced as his hand gently grazed her eyebrow. His eyes focused on the bruise and then back to her eyes as if to ask how it happened. "Fighting in the Forest of Seldoen."7
He smiled at her. Her personality had captured him the first time he met her. She was strong and independent, yet she still needed him. She was shy, not letting him see much of who she was for a while, yet she longed to know him and who he was as soon as they met.8
"We have a day or so of travel before us." She said looking to the sun to see how early it still was. She paused as a million thoughts ran through her mind, all playing out over her face. Fear of never getting to see him again after their journey was over. All the love she had for him. Hope for their future.9
He smiled to himself as she thought. He moved to kiss her. As their lips connected they both smiled. He whispered against her lips, "I love you."10
"Can you just hold me for a little longer?" She asked quietly. He smiled at her simple request, it was heaven to lay with her, protecting her as much as he could while the day was still too young to pose a threat to them.11
He wrapped her in his arms and kissed her face. Pulling the blankets up around them more, they fell asleep to the promising rise of each other's chest.12
