My Book Of Poems

GOT TUNA?1

Tuna fish,
Tuna fish,
yummy as can be.
Add a little egg,
it's enough for you plus me.
Throw in some onion,
stir it around.
A dollop of mayo,
goodness is found.
Grab your bread,
a spoon, and a plate.
Eat until belly's content,
tuna is great.2

HOMELESS3

His name is unknown.
When people walk by,
They don't even look his way.
Dressed in tattered, torn rags.
If you noticed him,
You'd see the years gone by.
Wrinkles upon his face,
He sets there shaking,
Waiting for a warm embrace,
That never comes along.
He may have once had a family,
Maybe a home, money, or a job.
How would you know?
You don't bother to ask.
He is waiting for life to let him go,
Lead him to a better place,
Where people don't woe.
If you were to drop a quarter,
You'd probably see him smile.
If you were to just listen,
He may tell you a story of the war,
The free, brave, almighty lives he saved.4

Lend an ear, or a hand.5

COUNTRY WOMAN6

We don't dress for success,
We just plainly dress.
Were hard time,
And good loving women.
Up when the rooster crows,
Drink our coffee and out the door we go,
To feed our animals.
Clean up after our dogs, and chickens.
Tend to the farm,
While our husband is out making a living.
We don't need a JC Penny, Boscovs, or a Leggetts,
Just direct us to the nearest Dollar General, Walmart,
Or Tractor Supply.
We don't walk with our noses high,
We just tend to the house and watch time roll by.
That's a real country woman.
Loving our family,
And that's all that matters. 7

DARK OUTSIDE & IN8

Walking this road of dead ambitions,
Only to realize all hope is gone,
And evil has subsided down my spine,
Flowing through the veins,
Once filled with love and happiness.
All growths of life have turned dark.
Forbidden truths all become lies,
As I look on the outside of this broken world. 9

WOMENS DAY ANYONE?10

"Hello Mrs.Jones", Congratulations, you have won a free Womens Day cookbook", "All you have to do is subscribe to our one month offer for $12.95 of Womens Day or any other magazine of your choice", "Now how would you like to pay for this?"11

I don't need a book,
I don't know how to cook,
I can't pay,
It's just not my day,
I need a job,
Will you give me a job?
Do you like green eggs and ham?
By the way my name is Sam.
I need a drink,
And a man, I think.
Do you have a man?
Or a minivan?
I don't want your book,
Oops my phone just came unhooked.12

TATTLETALE13

I hate a tattletale,
And thats why I hate you.14

Do you not have anyone else to gossip about?
Are you just that lonely,
That you have to make my life miserable?15

I shall call you tattle britches,
Or maybe just tattle bitch.16

Your stupid, alone,
Utterly dumb.
Arrogant, intolerable,
A real self centered freak.17

I need a paddle,
When I catch you tattle,
So I can smack you,
And any other tattle bitch who gets in my way. 18

LET ME LOVE YOU19

Give me the acquiesce,
To fill your heart with glory.
Allow me to give you passion,
Deep within your being.
My soul is growing for you.
Never halting.
I don't want to look upon dark shadows,
Of what could have been.
Let my blood crawl through your veins.
Never to leave you cripple,
But always to heal.
You'll never have to dread another second.
Unknowing to you I can be your answer,
If you will please let me love you. 20

CIGARETTES AND VODKA21

The aroma of apples and cinnamon,
Slowly fade the air,
Of this cold December morning.
As smoke from my cigarette fills the room.
I sit here in fantasy land,
Contemptible,
Sipping on last nights vodka.
Wanting the embrace,
Of your granite hard arms,
Around my body as I sit here with my,
Cigarettes and vodka. 22

WONDER OF WINTER23

The wonder of winter,
Merry December.
Children frolicking in the meadow.
Pure delight,
On Christmas night.
Bright lights sparkle off the icicles,
As soft snow drifts off my roof. 24

WORDS ONLY WORDS25

Fantasy drifts out,
Fingers type away,
Thousands of pictures come together through,
Words only words.
Of thoughts, or beliefs of past, present, future.
Nature brought to life,
Anger expressed.
Sadness cries out.
Words only words,
Of beautiful pleasures,
Sunset dreams,
Dark walks of life,
And all in between.
Poetry lives within the soul,
Within all that is new, or old.
My poetry is unique,
But not so different from the rest.26

Poetry, medicine at it's best.27

GODS REVENGE28

Dark horizons,
Emptiness within,
As one tree stands,
Remembering the shameless demons,
The wrath they scorned on my beautiful earth.29

I shine down on whats left,
As all my followers drift up with me.
As I banish the demons into the open sea.
We will rebuild,
Demon free. 30

I WATCH ON31

Watching over this world,
Atop this mountain high.
I see all the pain that most people deny.
I know the truth,
So does God.
I wait for each and every one of you.
Lifting you up to heaven,
And for some banishing you to hell.
You can't see me,
But I wait and I watch. 32

TRUE LOVE33

Watching over this world,
Atop this mountain high.
I see all the pain that most people deny.
I know the truth,
So does God.
I wait for each and every one of you.
Lifting you up to heaven,
And for some banishing you to hell.
You can't see me,
But I wait and I watch. 34

NO MORE LOVE THAN LOVE35

Spilling out of the books
and leaving no stone unturned,
this was the place we've found
in-between the nooks of reality36

Crackled emotions lie awaking,
waiting for just a moment to
speak- then again, here lies
another entombment, speaking
all that needs to be spoken37

...I was here and shall remain
as such 38

MY FINAL GOODBYE39

I knew you were gone before I got the news.40

When the phone rang,
I knew.41

When I answered,
I lost it.42

My great aunt.
The only aunt I ever loved.43

Cancer took you away,
God floated you up,
To be with him that day.44

"Oh", how I cried the day you left,
And "oh", how I thought of you the days after.45

I lost touch with you as I grew up.
I wish I could turn back time,
An say I'm sorry.46

I remember when we used to stay up late.
You'd make me hot cocoa, and popcorn.47

You were my substitute mommy,
When my mommy wasn't there.48

You'd sing me songs,
And tell me stories.
Go on nature walks,
And walk all day if I wanted.49

It was fun being with you auntie.50

I remember a few months after your death,
I drove by the cemetery where you lay.
I haven't been back there since that day.51

I saw the beautifulest buttercups
On the side of the road.
I thought of you.52

As I walked up to your grave,
I stuck them in the ground.53

Looked up to the sky,
Gave you a smile, a wave,and a final goodbye.54

I'll see you one day again,
Up there in that big wonderful sky. 55
