Freezing cold soaked to the bone scared lonely and lost Adrian O'Maley woke up finding herself more lost than she was when she had gone to sleep. She sat up on the bench she was sleeping on and rubbed her eyes wearily. "where am I" she whispered to herself looking around at the unfirmilar city. It hit her all at once she remembered, with shock she traveled back in her mind as far as she could go and suddenly her senses sharppened and her heart beat uncontrolably fast. She remembered stumbling weak and fatigued over miles of life not remembering where she had been or what she had seen but one thing she knew was that she wasn't safe yet. Suddenly a very early memory struck her she suddenly recognized her surroundings and jumped to her feet in fear. She was devistated she couldn't think clearly why was she back in this living nightmare that she had suffered so long ago. She leaned against the bench for support as it all came back to her. That fatal night she had barely escaped with her life much less anything else. Her memories flooding back to her she heard her angry husband screaming at her she felt his fists and the peices of broken glass strike her and then for a moment her memory went blank again she struggled hard to remember how she got away. Slowly images were returning to her she remembered being pushed down the stairs her husbands angry cries as he stormed out of the house leaving her almost dead at the foot of the stairs. She was weeping from pain and sadness and was about to let go of all hope she had left to live when a man entered she didn't remember his face but she heard his voice as he carried her to saftey She thought struggling hard to remember anything else. Though she was already soaked she felt a drop of water hit her forehead it was raining she realized quickly standing upright again and looking for a place to take shelter. Every shop she passed was closed. She was about to give up when she noticed a light inside a small shop across the street from her. Anxious to be somewhere warm she ran across the street as fast as her weakened body would let her. With what little strength she had left she pushed the door open a quiet ringing culd be heard from inside the shop. Desprate for the help of anyone she stumbled inside and moaned help in a bearly audible voice. She lifted her head and looked up to see a woman rushing towards her with a plate of something that looked quite foul and a mug of something liquid. Noticing Adrians current state she said come dearie sit and ushered Adrian over to a table. Exauhsted she collapsed into the chair. Setting the dishes on the table the woman introduced herself as Mrs. Lovett. Adrian introduced herself and stuck out her and for a handshake when the woman took her hand she gasped. "your freezing!" Mrs. Lovett exclaimed quickly letting go of Adrians hand. As Mrs. Lovett started to push the plate towards her they both turned they're head to the door as it opened with a quite ringing just the same as when Adrian entered. At this poin Adrian didn't think anything could surprise her but the man who entered the shop proved her wrong. He was tall with black hair that beared a single white streak and had the most astonishing brown eyes she had ever seen something looked so firmiliar about those eyes but she couldn't place where she had seen them before. "Hello Mr. T" Mrs.lovett said getting to her feet to greet the man. "hello" Adrian said in a soft shy voice. The man turned and looked at her and she felt warmer and for a moment lost herself in his eyes "good evening" He said though the thoughts running through his head were of curiousity and wonder. Adrain stood to introduce herself stating her name and holding out her hand to welcome a handshake. The man introduced himself as Sweeney Todd. She was taken aback by his voice now that it had become less of a whisper. For a moment she was so lost in thoughts about this man that she forgot that she was cold and tired and famished. He brought her back to reality by asking what brought her here. Again she struggled to remember how she ended up back in London. Finally she answered as truthfully as she could. "I don't know...I haven't seen London in many years and I'm not sure how I got here all I know is that here I am now." Mr. Todd looked confused and curious. "I'm not sure I understand." He said taking notice of her condition. At that moment the fatigue caught up to her she felt weaker than ever she felt her body go limp and then she blacked out. When she regained conciousness she had a terrible headache and she was so dizzy she felt as though she had fallen a hundred miles. When she was able to clear her head enough to think she realized that she was warm and dry she was still extremely hungry and thirstier than she had ever been but she couldn't focus on that now. She looked around her trying to place where she was as her eyes swept the room they got caught on a man sitting ina chair in the corner of the room. She vaguely remembered meeting him in a shop and she realized she must be in his house. Noticing that she was awake he asked her how she felt. Honestly she was feeling much better but her stomach was growling and her throat was parched "I'm feeling better but I haven't eaten in almost two weeks and I ran out of water three days ago." She admitted reluctently. Mr. Todd looked concerned and offered her some tea. She was to thirsty to refuse the offer. While Mr. Todd prepared the tea she got to her feet and walked over to a fulllength mirror against the back wall. She stood in front of it but her reflection frightened her. Her normally pretty face was pale and dirty with dirt and blood from small scratches on her cheeks. Her long dark hair was tangled and had lost its shine and she looked too thin all in all she looked very ill. Stepping away from the mirror not wanting to see herself anymore she resumed her seat. Mr. Todd sat down across from her and offered her a cup of steaming tea. She sipped the hot liquid and instantly felt warmth spread through her veins and as she swallowed the last drop in the cup she felt her strength returning to her slowly but it was a start. "I need somewhere to stay." she said truthfully not having any family or friends in london she was alone and she had nowhere to go. Mr. Todd started to speak and she listened intently "I insist you stay here" He beckoned to the room around them. Having nowhere else to go she acepted his offer. As she stood to stretch Sweeney looked up at her she looked down into his beautiful eyes and without even thinking about it she leaned down and kissed him. She wouldn't have been shocked had he pulled away quickly or burst out in anger but she was stunned when she felt him kiss back. They broke away from eachother and Adrian smiled. He looked at her again "why?" he asked. "I don't know" she answered honestly "It felt right when you looked at me I felt your heart touching mine and I realized that for so long I've been nothing but a soul a poor lost soul and when I felt myself drowning in your eyes I felt as though I was going to be found for the first time in so long I felt that someone cared and I wanted to show my thanks I wanted to do something toshow that I care to" "Adrian." he said softly "yes." she said curious of what he would say. "Do you remember the night you were beaten by your husband." he asked her quietly. "vaguely" she replied and then shock hit her "wait how do you know about that." "do you not remember me?" He asked turning her face to his and gazing into her eyes. Those eyes! she thought and it rushed back at her stronger than ever she remembered him lifting her up and carrying her to get help she remembered waking up in a strange room and he was standing above her looking at her with those enchanting eyes she struggled to speak to ask where she was and what had happened but he merely put his finger to her lips and kissed her lightly. "Its you!!!" she exclaimed louder than she had ment to. she was overcome with joy and sadness and strongest of all love. "yes and I am not who I used to be but one thing about me is still true...I love you" He said taking her hand in his and holding it tightly. Adrian cried but not sorrowfully weeping she cried tears of joy and threw her arms around him and whispered in his ear "I love you to I love you more now than I have ever felt in my life I thought about you everyday I wished I could find you and now I know what brought me back to London my mentor told me to let my heart guide me and I did and it brought me back to you" He held her in his arms letting her sob on his shoulder untill she had regained composure. When she turned to face him he wiped the tears from her face and kissed her. She loved him more then life itself she wanted to hold him in her arms forever she never wanted that kiss to end.1
